iPad loses gps position

I don't know if this has been discussed before but occasionally my iPad loses its gps fix using navionics. It's not an issue of receiving a signal because my iPhone works just fine. So far nothing serious yet but I almost lost a marker on a crab pot. The good news is that the solution is to power down the iPad and then power back up. Seems to work just fine.
 
Which iPad? 1 3 3 gen?
Have you tried deleting the Navionics app and reinstalling it?
 
Ipad2. I have just tried rebooting and it had worked.
