It is Christmas.. Is it still politically correct?

Take a listen to the song on the following web address :note . The song pretty much says what a majority of Americans think regarding the removal of all reference of God from all public places and our currency. Take a listen... I would love to see what the Brat's think about it. Merry Christmas :wink

never assume what others are thinking.. I agree with you on the whole happy holiday b.s. I don't believe in god but i say merry christmas to those that do and happy hanukkah to others. if I know that you are a muslim I will, and have , wish you happy what every holiday it is at the time they have a lot of them. I don't understand why we cant wish each other a happy what ever with out choosing. that said I want "undergod taken" BACK out of the pledge its to the country not anyone else.

"I would love to see what the Brat's think about it."

Couple of things I think would be best kept off the Brats site - religion and politics.

Let's focus on what we agree on - C-Dory.

Guys and gals... the comments are great. I really want your opinion, view, rant and or rave. I had a right brain stroke some time ago and it has left my cognitive senses somewhat scrambled... no kidding folks, without looking I have a one in seven chance in telling you what the day of the week it is. NO KIDDING! I really have grown to respect the Brat's opinions... you've helped me more than you know.

I gave you all the question as it was posed to me... and I really don't think I have answer except that you do what ever floats your boat. C Dory I hope!

I showed this to my wife and she said I missed the point. (I do that a lot lately.) She told me the question was not really about Christmas... it was about the separation of church and state; i.e. government. She also said it was a legal issue. I googled it and now I am more confused than ever.

Maybe your collective wisdom can give me some understanding. That' all that I was looking for...

I went to the site Mike had in his comment. There must be some mistake... where I went to does not have a connection to my original query. Guy's I don't get it. Not unless I did something wrong..

My opinion? Drop the subject now and look elsewhere for your answers, Butch. The best that can happen? This thread gets locked before it gets out of control.

I thought I did something wrong looking for Mike's site. based on the previous post looks like we've been suckered for sure. Now I get it... my wife would bop me too!

You know of all the places on the internet.... this is the only site where it seems like opinions are shared without the verbal abuse. I have had a few minutes to think after my wife enlightened me... not not a slap to the noggin... just a point in the right direction.

I am not wrong... your opinions count. Just to let you know one of my dearest friends is named OM. He's Hindu and by any definition you can find... he will be the gentlest man I have ever known in my 58 years. By the way... Om is translate as God. The dude is a good man... period.

Of all the education that I have (or had) the one thing I remember is what my grandad used to say, "Ideas (WV for opinions) are like bellybuttons... everyone has one."

I told my wife after she showed me I screwed up and would cause a controversey... I told her not on the brat's site... our common bond is the water, boats... C Dorys. As tight as the people on the site is... if we can't discuss our cultural differences in peace,,, what chance do we have as a world population. It has to start somewhere.

I may be too naive now... but if we as a group steer clear of our differences in our interactions as a social group... how can we ever support our brethern in their time of need?

"Understanding is the key to harmony".

That quote is the one thing I remember from my 6th. year astrophiscs class many years ago.

The motto of this site is be nice,,, (don't ask me where I saw that... but I did and we'll have to defer to Tyboo to cite it...

Good night all! Butch

Sneaks, I am going to leave this up to the administrators to do what ever they wish with this thread... however, you'll never get the answer to a question if to run from it. Tyboo... if you feel this query is out of question for our site... kill it.

Boats are boats... but what gives the boat character are the people on them.

Would it be so bad as to let the Brat's comment based on their opinions... how can that hurt?

Butch-

I don't know for sure whether you're telling us the truth about what happened to your head or not, but I do know you're very cognizant of what you're doing here and you're very able to continue to construe a thought train which begs for diverse opinions, disagreements, and eventual controversy and conflicts.

Your soft sell of your supposed need for genuine opinions from this trusted group is a ruse for sucking us back into emotional debates that lead to discord and interfere with our basic purpose of serving the C-Dory community though the discussion of boating topics.

I strongly suggest you drop this apparent attempt to create problems in our community just to amuse yourself.

If you don't like what you're hearing, I also strongly suggest you find another place to discuss your intended topic.

P.S.: Sorry to be so direct, but anything else just begs unwanted continued discussion!

You've been here since 2004, and obviously know about our recent go-around on controversial topics! Enough said!

Good Night!

Joe.

I agree with the Sea Wolf.:thup

Members signing on expect the topics to be some how related to boating not these social issues.

Since you answered me directly, I'll comment one final time. You profess to want Brat opinions yet you seem to ignore the opinions offered and continue to pursue your quest for "opinions." Your real name isn't Stuberg is it? Or are you just waiting for someone to express an opinion you agree with?

I, for one, am not "running away" from your question, I'm simply advising you to find a religious or political forum elsewhere that is designed to directly address your concerns. If you wish a Brat's advice, then take it I'm not the only Brat with the same opinion.

Yes, I am avoiding the question and for good reason. This is a C-Dory site. I suspect by this time you've also received several private messages with similar opinions. If you do wish my personal view on the original question just PM me and I'll share them. Privately!

Don

Butch,

As a since-the-beginning moderator (now retired) of this site I don't think it is right to force Mike to decide on the appropriateness of this thread. I don't share my religious belief on this or any other site with anyone. It's a personal thing with me, and always a controversial subject.

I wish you happiness for the holiday season, whatever your view.

Seems like we are getting a lot of "members" posting on here that do not own a C-Dory.

Now I know that this is the best place to come to if you are looking at boats and want to find out about the C-Dory, but it would be best, IMHO, if those that do not own a C-Dory would spend more time reading and learning instead of posting. Sure-- post and ask questions about the boat, but please don't come in our house, prop your feet up on the coffee table, drink our coffee up and make yourself at home without marrying into the "Family".
This site is for C-Dory owners, if after a couple years you haven't bought a C-Dory, find another group.

Sorry if this seems a bit harsh for some--- but this is not an "open forum" for the general public. If you don't currently own a C-Dory, or have serious plans to buy one in the near future, please don't wear out your welcome.
