It's here, it's here, it's here!

Like the optimist on the plane who tries to stuff that large suitcase into the overhead bin, I'm hoping the Tomcat will fit into the garage. Won't quite make it.

Good idea Roger. I'm trying to do it like the do on the plane - you know, wheels first then jam it repeatedly so it should work.

Yesterday I spent about 4 to 5 hours washing it down. It got a lot of road grime on it and it had some yellow staining near the water line. Got almost all of that off but might have to go at it with some Barkeepers Friend to get it perfect. Hope to get a dry patch today to do some waxing.

So in the past 2 days I have put about 6 hours each day into cleaning and waxing the boat. I was aided by a friend who is now a co-owner of the Tomcat. I'll introduce him to the group in a separate post elsewhere but he's a good guy and will be interacting with the brats in the future. Here's the results of our efforts. Look how pretty and shiny it is.

Roger & Joyce have a new windshield!!!! Thanks for your business and I look forward to some great fishing stories. Thanks again, Cory Gracey, Sharp Yachts Transport

Yes - I should have posted that. True to his word, Cory came out yesterday and replaced the front window. Since the window breakage was more of an act of nature than anything that Cory did, he really went out of his way to make it right on his nickle and I appreciate that tremendously. If any of you need a boat hauler in the future, I can highly recommend Cory. As an aside, the company that made the glass for him made 2 pieces so I now have a spare. So in the event that someone out there with a Tomcat has a similar bad mishap and breaks the center front window (prior to me having a similar bad mishap), let me know. I've got the glass to fill it in my cabinet in the garage.

Roger, Congrats on that cat.......beautiful. It still might fit into that garage. Cory's truck might have more horsepower than yours, maybe you could get him to put it in there for you. Oh, by the way, don't give the glass away before you get it back out of the garage

Got the boat and trailer registered today. I had to wait for the trailer manufactures certificate of origin to arrive in the mail yesterday before I could get it titled and registered. Paid my sales tax on both (ouch) and have the next license plate for the trailer. This evening I stopped at West Marine to pick up lettering and numbers necessary to replace the MD numbers with WA ones. I should have it on the water this weekend.

Today I got the MD numbers removed and the WA numbers and registration sticker applied. Then I worked out a temporary strapping plan and hauled the boat up to Everett for it's maiden trip in the Puget Sound. Did a brief (1.5 hour) trip out toward the S. tip of Whidbey and then turned N. and circled Hat Island. Dropped one of the passengers off at the dock and then moored the boat for the evening in the guest moorage at Port of Everett. I'll do another trip tomorrow AM and will try some trolling for coho with a cut plug when I'm out.

It was pretty windy and the waves we a bit steep heading S. Not too bad but easily manageable in the TomCat. One engine had the pee hole clogged up a bit but that was easily cleared and other than that, things ran fine.
