I need to build a bracket so that my kicker has adequate clearance from the trim tab vane. For those of you that have a kicker and trim tabs, how far away does the motor need to be from the protruding edge of the trim tab? Obviously I want the kicker as close to the transom as possible. Thank you.

I have 2008 22Cruiser with trim tabs and a kicker. I built a bracket for the kicker, my main issue was that the angle of the transom caused the prop of the kicker to drag in the water when it was fully raised so my bracket mounted the kicker vertically as well as set the proper height. It also allowed adequate clearance from the trim tab. There is a photo of it and the Mercury kicker in my album. If you would like I can measure the clearance from the trim tabs although with the kicker slightly out from the transom and vertical, clearance was not a problem.

Thank you Karl. This looks very much like what I envision needing. I notice your kicker is mounted higher than the transom top edge. What length is the kicker motor shaft and how far out do your trim tabs protrude? My motor has a 20" shaft and my trim tabs protrude 12-5/8".
