I am ordering a suzuki 9.9 high torque 20 inch kicker for my 19 ft angler & wondering whitch garlick 4 stroke bracket I will need. The 9.5 or 15 inch vertical lift. Suggestion or common scense answer needed.

The long shaft is 105 lbs--The 15" heavy duty bracket is better if you want to pay the $$. The long shaft, makes it a bit harder to get the lower unit clear when the engine is tilted up and the bracket raising higher helps with this. I am using the 11" smaller unit on a 100 lb outboard--and it is marginal--but works--much more weight and I would want the 15"--heavier duty unit.

Thank you very much for the help.I was beginning to think my question was too dumb to deserve responses. As a rank offshore powerboat newbe, I would be adrift alone without c-brats. I had some difficulty locating credible suzuki dealers , so I purchased A 9.9 yamaha 20 inch high thrust. Since purchasing c-dog in feb, she remains unwetted. Im all atwitter with the prospect of trying her out in the lake before taking her to the north coast. thanks again. Vern.

I'm sure the hinge mounted kicker brackets are fine but I always preferred a solid bracket that does not move. I had the fixed Garelick bracket on my last boat (19' cuddy cabin) and it worked pretty well. If a solid fits, and provides the correct position to get the prop far enough in the water, why still allowing you to trim it out when underway, I would personally opt for it.

I know that when we added trim tabs to the boat, the factory installed a stationary bracket called the Mini-Jacker. Here's a pic of it.

At the factory party in January, they had a few of these to sell at a very good price. You might want to call the factory if interested. They are very sturdy and do a good job of allowing room for the trim tabs, if applicable.
