Ok i'm going to open up this topic. I know it's been discussed before. But I would like to get some advice from some of you who have added a kicker to your tomcat 255. I would like to add a kicker that I could easily take on and off. I do all sorts of fishing. Tuna fishing I prefer to troll with the mains and have a live well at the back ontop of the offshore bracket. I'm considering a yamaha 9.9 or T8. I would like to put most of my trolling hours on the kicker.
The weight of the kicker is about 125 pounds.
Concern 1.....being to heavy at the back. I have three batteries at the back of the boat. If I move them forward where would be a good place to put them? I have a 2006 Tomcat255. That could lesson the weight and make it less heavy at the stern
Concern 2....mounting this thing. Some of considered using the swim step ladder to mount something. I'd like to put this thing at the most optimal position.
Concern 3....I don't want to steer manually with this thing and I'd like to have some sort of tie bar system on the steering system.
Would appreciate advice on this before I start this project on those who have done this.
