Hello

I am looking for some help in deciding what hp and shaft length I need on a 16foot C-Dore'. I am thinking a 8 horse power long shaft. Found a Tohatsu or a Nissan for a good price.
I had a 4 horse on it on Gizmo and it went 4 knots on flat water.
Also who do you recommend for doing canvas?
From Marysville where is the best launch for Lake Washington? I want to go there this weekend and try some fishing.

We would like to join everyone on the lock cruise too.

Thanks

Dore'

Mercer Island and Newport both have good boat launches. Maybe someone else can chime in with a launch further North on the lake.

When I cruise on Lake Washington I always launch at Magnuson Park. (next to the old Sand Point Naval Station).

The Newport launch mentioned above is the 40th street ramp in Bellevue. It's right off the Coal Creek exit of I-405. Here's a link.

It cost $10 on Friday, Sat, and Sunday and $9 on the other days.

The Tohatsu and Nissian are the same motor, different badges. Good motors. I would think a 8hp would be more than enough for a 16'. I used to run a 8hp Yamaha on my 22' with no problem at all pushing it. Got a good deal on a 9.9 Yamaha so I up graded.

The closes ramp on the lake to marysville is the one off of the sluogh in kenmore. its a fre ramp and the parking is ok. watch your self leaving the slough. Stay within the bouys until you reach the last big one near the barge, and watch out for the sea planes. What are you fishing for?

I have a Suzuki DF6 long (20") shaft. The Suzuki kicker is quiet & works well, but there's no way to hook it up with a steering rod to the main engine.
