Kicker on CD25 with Trim Tabs

Has anyone transom mounted a 9.9 hp or 15 hp kicker on a 25 with trim tabs? I have seen several using a mini jacker to push the outboard out to provide clearance for the trim tabs. Most of the mini jacker installations require a 25 inch shaft (extra long). If there is room to mount a kicker on the transom, will a 20 inch shaft (long shaft) work?

Thanks in advance!

No, but I spent hours trying,
With a 25" transom height on the CD-25 I had to go with a 25" Yamaha 9.9 to get everything to work out.
I also had to build an aluminum bracket to mount the kicker out away from the transom for clearance issues.

I have a Suzuki 9.9 with power tilt hanging directly off the transom alongside a Suzuki DF200.

To clear the tabs I have the stop pin in the second hole up so the motor doesn't go all the way down. It is still all the way in the water and nearly vertical when down.

Here is a thread where another gentleman asked the same questions. There is a picture of my setup in it with a little more info from me and others.

Good luck. When I first got the new motors a couple years ago I was sure I would need a bracket but with some fiddling around I found the sweet spot for everything to work just right.

An adjustable bracket on Wild Blue allowed us to use the motor for the dinghy as a kicker, if necessary. As the bracket lowers, it also extends rearward; could even make a short shaft work on that bracket, and clear the trim tab.

JamesTXSD (AKA Wild Blue),
Thank you for the suggestion. I recently purchased a long shaft 9.9 Honda as a kicker for my Cape Cruiser and today purchased a bracket similar to yours (MarineTech Panther), to mount the kicker on.
I have used similar brackets on many of the sailboats that I have had over the years and had a love-hate relationship with them, because they all had problems with electrolysis. Now, it appears the builders of these brackets have found better way of isolation of the stainless from the aluminum, so that they WILL work for years in a salt water environment.
