Lake Powell electronic charts = Suggestions?

What is the best brand of electronic charts for Powell? In the past we have just used the Stan Miller maps, but the scale is huge and there is no detail at all. I realize that fluctuating water levels make it impossible to show the shoreline, but SOME detail would be nice.

On a side note, why don't they have a feature that would allow one to enter the current water elevation into the plotter and have it draw in the correct shoreline? After all they already have the bottom contours mapped....

For detail a step above the Stan Jones map, try the Fish n Map Company Lake Powell North and South maps.

The electronic charts supplied by Lowrance in my LCX-28C HD give a nice reasonably detailed representation of Lake Powell. Don't know about other electronic charts for lakes.

The best Lake Powell maps I've seen in twenty years of looking are those made by Kingfisher (2 maps). They show lots of land contours in addition to the contours below the water.

The Navionics "Hotmaps" cards are highly detailed for a great number of lakes. We used it on a Humminbird Sonar/GPS. I am pretty sure that you can get both CF and SD type cards. The only problems are back in the slot canyons when you lose the GPS signal. You're just on sonar at those times.

We used the Navionics Western States Hotmap for Lake Powell. Not as much detail as the Platinum charts, but plenty of detail. Ours is on CF for the Raymarine E-80.

Navionics Does the chip for various brands. Garmin does chips as well. The maps I use are Garmin
DVD U.S. Inland Lakes
Part Number: 010-10774-00
Suggested Retail Price: $ 139.99 USD

Just load it onto a PC as use it that way or I download mine into my Garmin plotter. It kind of goes back and forth between Garmin and Navionics who has the most detail. I have both of them and they are both pretty good.
