Larry K ready to retire

To all C-Brats and all other industry friends:

Larry K ready to retire :D

The time comes to move on and to enjoy life. I have worked at McMorran Place Sports and Entertainment Center for about 35 years and have been its General Manger since 1998, so as of March 1st I am retiring.

The things that I will miss the most are working with all of the people in the industry that have the same passion to provide great sports and entertainment and to have our buildings full of people enjoying themselves.

The next part of my life I will be spending more time with my wife at our cottage. As you may or may not know I use our C-Dory to get back and forth from our home and the cottage (No cars, no road rage, no traffic jams to contend with and besides it’s the best and only way to get there). I also hope to do some cursing this summer if my wife lets me, as she is not retiring. If any C-Brats are in the area let me know and please try to stop by either our home or the cottage for a :beer or a :cocktail .

The very best to all you c-brats and may you enjoy life as I have and will. :thup

Hi Larry,

Congratulations on your retirement. Life gets no better than this. Don't be like me and retire three times. Fawn Island is indeed a unique and wonderful place to spend the summer. I was raised on Lake St. Clair and used to have a place on the south end of the St. Clair River near Decker's Landing. Now, I do most of my boating on Lake Erie but do get up in your neck of the river a few times a year. When I do, I will be sure give you a holler.

Best regards,

Larry-

Congratulations on your retirement, and we all wish you the best!

35 years is plenty, even in a job you dearly love, and time for a fun hobby (or several) to be enjoyed!

Life goes on, and soon you'll wonder how you ever found time to work, with all the wonderful other things to do and enjoy!

Joe. :teeth :thup

Larry, congratulations. I've retired a couple of times and it's fun. I think you'll find that your wife will be the one cursing however, as she will find that, while she may have married you "for better or worse", she did not marry you for "lunch". At least that's what Sally says....

Seriously, wish you all the best, having time to do what you want, when you want to is priceless!

Cracked me up, Charlie!

Larry, congratulations on this next chapter. As the others have told you, retirement can be the absolute best. A C-Dory, time to play with it, and lots of interesting water... have fun and keep us posted!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Larry, best wishes and thanks for all the photos SO FAR! I anticipate sharing vicariously in more of your adventures and also crossing paths some days.

We would enjoy getting together for a cruise of at least a day trip. Don't have too much fun being retired, save some for us kids. :wink

Larry -

Congrats - you'll love the time to do just what YOU want to do, with most every minute. Your photo album is great - was that you in one of the pictures of the polar bear plunge? Enjoy your boat, your cabin and all that great cruising water.

Larry,

Good for you! I retired almost four years ago and haven't looked back. The work stuff really got in the way of having as much fun as I am now.

We're thinking of making a run up your way from Lake Erie this summer. Hopefully we can get in touch.

Not to worry, you won't forget where you worked, just what it was you did there.
Looks like there are quite a few C-Dory Michiganders out there. Congratulations and best wishes.
