I happen to use bunks on my lift, but have owned several strap lifts in the past.
If I was setting the lift up for the 25, I would put the aft strap, just forward of the transom. This is where most of the weight of the boat is centered, and far less likely to cause any "Hook" in the bottom (which I think is a minimal risk).
The forward strap would go just about where the helm seat is located. Although a 10,000 # lift is adequate, I use a 15,000# lift.
A couple of minor things--a screw drive, vs the belt drive is more desirable (I have the belt drive--and the only problem I have is critters building nests in the enclosure...
Be sue and put some isolation gasket material between the aluminum I beams, and the top of the pilings. At least some pilings are still treated with material which will interact with the aluminum, and cause a weak point. I used SS easterners--and have no issues. My current lift is in fresh water, because of the volume of water coming out of our Bayou, keeps any salt water intrusion out. Other lifts have been in salt water where there was more corrosion issues.
We have not had any problems with jetted in pilings--but that is due to the type of bottom and substrate. We try and get the pilings down to clay, thru the sand. We all face different bottom conditions.
