Like a cork !

I try to travel long distances on the ocean when conditions are good but sometimes you have to get somewhere. I was traveling from Gloucester Ma. to Portsmouth NH about 25NM in some pretty rough stuff on Weds. Seas were 2-3 steady and 3-4 in some spots. A fishing boat from Gloucester had capizized trying to set an anchor earlier in the day and at 6:00 a small craft advisory was issued. I was so impressed with the way the EmilyAnn handled. At some points I had to ride in the troughs to get on course and she just rode up and down fairly comfortably. A lot of the way was in a following sea I trimmed the bow up a little didnt touch the trim tabs and throttled up a little when needed. The boat mantained 10-11 knots at times pushed to 17 by the waves but never felt unstable or in trouble. This is one seaworthy boat I was amazed at how well she did. If I was in my old boat a 20ft. Boston whaler I would have turned around.
