How about incorporating a "Like" button, so when you agree or like what someone has stated but haven't the time or interest to repeat what was said?

Because it would be a waste of time and space? I will admit that I'm not on LikeBook and Tweeter. Too much wasted time and space. If you don't have content, even worthless content (like this), then why trouble people with reading a thumb's up?

I am on several forums where there are "like" or Thank you" buttons. It was just added to The Hull Truth.

Although it seems like a nice idea--I don't see any specific value it adds to the threads--seems like sort of a popularity contest at times...

Simple is best--in my mind. This is one of the beauties of the C Dory! And the site.

I will join in on the "like" bashing and say I can't see the value on other spaces where it is used. Add content or add nothing. I feel that "like" is only a there for ......omitted to stay nice.......

The chances of me logging in to see how many likes I get on a topic is nill. But on the otherhand, maybe there is a more useful equivalent that we simply have not seen. I can think of a few that would at least add one element of data to the concept. But they would all have to be so simple, that it would amount to polling which is already and feature I have seen on this site in the past.

Unless it serves a tangible direct purpose in line with the goals of the platform, it is just another thing on the screen.

No offense, but I always figured that the people on this site were more mature than that.

It just occurred to me, without like counts, how will I know which threads I should be reading? :)

Greg

I find this site very informative and also entertaining. This one goes under "entertaining". Quite honestly, I thought my "hatch pic" thread would go a lot further.
I guess... mmmmm, perhaps not enough likes.

I mean, I'm like, I like it, sorta, and then, I mean, I'm like, I don't. Yeah.

Greg, Just read the most recent ones and you have it covered.....if you like.

Me, I'm not one of the 84 million  I just kind like it here.

A "Like" indicates I have read your post and agree with it's content. Hardly immature or valueless. Perhaps i should have suggested a "BS" button, I could have used that one several times! Lol

Why not just "OMG", ":-)" or , for dislike, "WTF" if you feel a reply or response is
required?

Otherwise, probably the better option, is to just keep your opinion to yourself.

Aye.
