One summer I had to make an, "Emergency" crossing of Rosario's Strait. I had to make the run across a full incoming tide with the wind standing up the waves. Most of the crossing, I could only see through the windshield when it wasn't covered with water, but even thought water was constantly washing over the fore deck and windshield, non of it ever came into the cockpit. :smile
Half way across I noticed I was in the path of a fully laden, incoming tanker. As I passed a large tug waiting for him on the other side, the skipper just leaned out of his window, looked at me and shook his head. :wink
