look what followed me home.

Well nothing but work on a new boat. I spent a good part of the day fixing a water leak that allows rain water to travel into the fuel tank compartment. Not a surprise to me but some thing I wanted to put a stop to right off.

After that I spent a lot of time building up the level of the joint between the back edge of the cabin and the side deck. This is to redirect rain water away from the fuel tank problem. this is a work in progress to see what the best fix is.

After that I pulled the rubber gaskets out of four of the windows and clean the mildew out of them and re-installed them. They are old and shrinking and had pulled out of the corners. With directions from Larry I set them back in with the gap at the top and then used 4200 to seal the gap. Looks ok for now but in the future the window rubber will have to be replaced.

After that (see a pattern here) i installed a burgee pole on the bow to hang my original c-dawg issued c-dory burgee. this was a well appreciated present for Larry and Nancy. One of a few that are out there and It will be proudly flown.

...bigger anchor ( what size are the 25s using)...

I'm using a 14 lb Delta, w/ 50' of chain. I'd go to the next size up (22 lb) though.

That's a lot of cockpit and storage. Can't wait to see that puppy. I have Tues, Wed & Thur off next week, Tom...(hint, hint).

22# Delta on our 25, with 50' of chain. I've been VERY pleased with that anchor.

You can run but you can't hide, just saw you out on the water by Elger Bay Camano Island. I glanced out the window before taking a walk and there you were racing by at worp speed headed north.

Yes that was us. Finally got on th water last nigth around 5pm . Headed north to visit the folks at la connor. Some fog some rain but no wind and flat seas. We cruised at 30mph most opf the way and only turning 4000 rpm on the 225 honda. Got here by 630.

We are tied up in la conner in the marina. Saw a 22 and a rossi on the guest dock. Headed to whale watch later

We all need to see this boat, especially after you put your personal touches on it. One thing that makes C-Brats so special, and its been mentioned before, and its that C-Brats are out there doing it. Lots of water under the hulls of C-Brats in general, not like some of the Yachties that sit in the clubhouse and talk about it, although I guess thats O.K. too, but for our money, we prefer the C-Brats - the most experienced, helpful and fun bunch of boaters ever assembled on this planet. Sounds preachy, but then again, it is Sunday. The flag is flying on the bank of the Snake in honor of Memorial Day, and it may be a good day to catch a trout! Roger

Tom & Susan -- glad you finally got out on the new boat! Sounds like you have an awesome ride there. The long, slender hull and big motor reminds me of the Dashews' Wind Horse.

Let me know if/when you will be in the La Conner marina tomorrow and I will try to come over for a visit.

Warren

P.S. I can make you a good deal on a drum windlass for your new boat!

Yes, Tom has yet to discover the pleasures of SLOW cruising!

We're staying with friends at the Lopez Islander this holiday weekend. We decided to hop over to Friday Harbor for the afternoon. We caught a glimpse of Tom and Susan's "new" boat on the dock as we were leaving.

Sorry we missed you guys. Beautiful and very unique boat!

Thanks to Tom and Susan for giving us a tour of their 27CD this afternoon. What a nice boat. Lots of storage, too. Congratulations on a great purchase!

Nice to see joe and ruth today can't wait to see your new boat.

Peter sorry we missed you, after seeing whales in front of friday harbor we stopped in for a late lunch before running back to la connor. Still figuring out fuel usage and best speeds for comfort. Need a fuel flow meter. Not use to not being able to just look in the tanks. I will be installing new gages along with a meter.

Tomorrow we head home to everett.

when i am retired and have weeks and weeks for boating... then i will go slow. for now it is burn teh candle at both ends so we can have great fun in the weekends

Very cool Tom & Susan...Teddi just informed Amy and I that she wants to see the new digs that Shadow gets to hang out in!!!!
