Looking for 16 pics with canvas up

I am looking for pictures of 16's with canvas up to get some ideas for how I want the canvas done for my "new" Alyssa Jean. I have found a good one of Bambina and another red one on the fly from the home page collection. Anyone that can provide a picture would be appreciated.

This is a timely thread. I'm looking to get a canvas made pretty quickly too. King marine did the one for my 22, and as others have said the canvas was good, the install was so so. I'm going to get a quote this week from him, and would be interested in any other options. Like who is doing the factory canvases these days? Is it still Dave?

Sark, lets keep each other posted on our search for a reasonable canvas maker. Maybe we can have the same company do both and get a 90% discount.

Good Idea, definitly the right color! King gave ame a discount when I bought my canvas since I bought a camper and a mooring cover at the same time.

You might inquire at Churchill Bros. on West Marine Drive in Everett. They did some small work for me and I was very satisfied. They have a good reputation around the marina.

Last week I contacted three canvas companies looking for pricing on a mooring cover. If I remember right Churchills was $350. I hope my notes are on the boat. There were two other bids, one for $325 and then one on San Juan for $425.
My camper back was made by King's and has some chafe where the cover has rubbed. I too would like to get that repaired and a mooring cover.
I would use the grey Sunbrella (looks kind of like tweed).
I haven't called King's yet, but was going to do so on Friday when I get back to the boat.
I will say that we took the boat for its maiden voyage (for us) on Thanksgiving and had the camper back on. It made a world of difference in comfort. We went all around the San Juan's and never felt uncomfortable. We did have a blanket over our knees, but never felt the need to fire up the heater.

Nice camperback set-up Msheperd! :thup

Since I'm planning on fishing-only day trips, I think I'm going to save the money on a camperback purchase for Barquinho. Besides, David graciously included a vinyl camperback set-up with the sale. I might play with that to see how it works out.

Keep us informed on what y'all find out in pricing and shops.

I plan using my 16 for fishing and the occassional overnighter. I don't want a frame that will get in my way when fishing/shrimping/crabbing. Saying that I am toying with idea of just getting the slant back. It will work in a pinch for overnighting but can be put away when fishing.
I was hoping to get some comments on this. I see most folks are looking at camperbacks.

Dave at King Marine...I was really expecting one like Bambina's but we didn't specify anything in particular. And I must confess, we really like the headroom in this version,

So Pat, who did your canvas?

A bit of history for you Peter. That vinyl camperback came to you from David via me via Fred, with no money changing hands along the way...good luck with it!

I never have my top up because I mostly use the boat for fishing. But if it is raining really hard we will put the top part up but not attach the back supports. We just use bungee cords so if we get a fish on we can flip it forward.

I had King put the full camper canvas on my 16' in march. It came to $1450. I think that is the current price. There is plenty of headroom. It has to be at least 6' 6". I would have preferred a little less for esthetics but it works. Something I had them do additionally is make sunbrella covers for the storage under the seats and across the transom storage area. Looks neater plus keeps the spray out. They charged me $150 for that.

I believe ours was exactly $1,000 but that was early 2007. The Bambina style definitely looks better but does not have standing headroom. Also the separate side panels are much nicer. But then again, the headroom is great on ours.
