Looking for the right four blade prop for 22 cuiser

We are down to one prop. It is a three blade aluminum for our 90hp Honda. It is a good prop and works well. I would like to get a four blade aluminum and keep the three blade for backup/spare.
If anyone has a 22 Cruiser and a 90hp Honda (our boat and motor are 2004 with carbs) and is using a four blade aluminum prop we would like to know what brand and pitch works well for you. It would be nice to get the right pitch on the fist try, so I thought it would be wise to draw on the experience of the C-Brats before buying one. We would probably want it to be for a fully loaded boat.

I recommend you visit with Buster at Port Angeles Power Sports. I purchased an aluminum 4-blade from them for my previous boat. They will work with you on finding the right size for your needs. They put mine on for me and did an exchange when an adjustment was necessary. The unit I selected was a Honda brand, but I don't recall the final size we settled on. Good folks and fair price.

Not a C dory,,, but I replaced our stock 3 blade Volvo prop with a 4 blade this summer and so far I love it. Went with a 2 piece Hustler, they advertise stainless performance at aluminum prices because of their squeeze cast manufacturing process. I dropped from 21p to 19p. and it seems to work good. If you aren't happy with the pitch chosen it is cheaper to get another blade that will fit the same hub as opposed to buying another 1 piece prop. My dealer said if I wasn't happy and brought it back unmarked they would credit me and order another.

I wanted a prop for when I was loaded(stern heavy) for cruising. I found that the 4 blade allows me to plane faster and at a lower speed and gives me much better reverse thrust around the docks. I have not done a WOT run with it yet nor have I calculated gas mileage but I am happy with it and my stock prop is now my spare.

We run a heavily loaded 19 angler with a 2003 Honda 75. We started with a 4 blade aluminum 13 inch 15 pitch prop and it worked ok before we started really loading it up. The planing ability and general response at sea level was OK but we knew it would struggle at higher elevations and our increasing load at the time. I wanted to try a 13x14 but had trouble actually finding such a prop for our motor. So....

We switched to an aluminum 13.25 inch 13 pitch prop last summer thinking the increase in diameter would compensate some for the 2 digit pitch drop.

It has been working great and is now our main prop. We lost about 2.5mph of top speed but the planing is now more effortless, responsiveness to throttle changes, more immediate, and our cruising speed of 14-16 knots still keep the RPM well under 5k.

We run the boat about as heavy as your average 22 cruiser but have a little less hull to drag. If the pic below we had a lot of extra goods on board and is the heaviest we have ran so far with fuel and water to support two familes/boats for a week. It still planed but slowly and we cruised at 12 knots happily enough until offloading later in the day.

I have a CD22 with twin Honda 40's. Came with 10"D(?)x13"Px3Blades(Honda brand made by Solas) worked good; replaced it with 10+"x12"x4 (Solas brand) and got great gas milage (4.5mpg) but too low rpm at WOT when heavily loaded (frequently); replaced it with 11"x11"x4 (Solas brand) and it gets me max rpm when light (6000 rpm) and low end WOT range (5000) at heavy load but milage went down to 4.1 mpg - happy with it as my main props. So dropping 2" in pitch seems to be a good choice when going from 3 to 4 blades. All props were Solas aluminum ordered off internet; biggest problem is the website stated if the prop touches water you can't return it.

My 2007 CD-22 Cruiser is powered by a single Merc 115 HP EFI 4-Stroke. Not sure if it would be propped the same as your 90, but I'm running this 4-bladed aluminum prop and quite happy with it.

Solas Rubex 4 Blade Aluminum 13.25" dia. X 13" pitch SR. (Rubex P/N 9413-133-13) (Use with Rubex Hub Kit RBX-102)

This replaced my 3 bladed aluminum prop: Prop: 14 x 13 Mercury Black Max Aluminum p/n 48-77340A45 (Flo-Torq II hub kit 835257K 1)

Just thought I would report back that we found a four blade prop that is just right for our boat. In searching through past posts I found that someone mentioned they had used a Solas 4 blade 13x15 aluminum prop on their 22 cruiser and it worked well. I purchased a Solas Amita 4 blade 13 diameter by 15 pitch for our 2004 Honda carbed 90hp and we tied it this weekend. It was perfect for our boat. We were loaded fairly heavy and had an inflatable dinghy strapped to the roof and were able to get the same top speed as with a lighter boat and no dinghy using the 3 blade 13.5 x15 Honda prop. with the 4x13x15 prop we were able to run 400 rpm higher (5800) than with the 3x13.5x15. The boat ran very smooth at all speeds with this prop and it was noticeably more responsive in reverse around the docks.

I can't begin to guess about fuel consumption yet as we were going back and fourth and in circles trying out new equipment on this trip. I will try to keep track on future trips and if I can come up with a number I will report back
