FYI.... a very unusual & interesting story of a 'lost' abandoned boat's journey across the Atlantic.

Neat story. BUT: never leave the boat, right. Yep, but they made it to shore, and the boat was never found. OK, I know, they got dumped and the search was called off when they made it to land. Good for them, bad for the boat. Sounds like they were not wearing PFDs, and the VHF was in the bag too. At least they had the bag with them when they got to shore.

Boat was upside down, and from that pix, hard to tell if the OB was still there.

I don't know if they could have stayed with the boat -- I think it was still in gear and running after they fell out. Good reason to use the kill switch, especially on an open boat!

The boat was a 26-foot Regulator. I've run these boats in rough seas, and they are incredibly seaworthy.
