Merry Christmas

Through out the past 3 years, I’ve come to realize how different yet alike we are. We are North Westerners, New Englanders, Southerners, Democrats, Republicans, Fishermen, Hunters, Retired Executives, Admirals, Privates and Scientists. Our diversity is vast. Yet, one little quirk that we all share brings us together. Our affection for a small, cute, quirky little boat gives us some common ground.

I’m sure that I’m not alone in celebrating that common bond. More than that though, I celebrate the breadth and depth of the friendships that develop out of the affection for those little boats. This Christmas, I am thankful for all the friends we have made here in our little online world and for those that have become face to face friends. We treasure every one of you.

Our wish is that you all will ponder the true meaning of Christmas and enjoy every minute with your family and friends. All the best for a wonderful 2009.

As long as were getting started early on our Christmas wishes, I thought I'd share a little bit about an article I read in the Dr's office yesterday. It was in Dec. 22nd's Time Magazine's science section. The article was about recent research looking at how behaviors and feelings "spread" between people in social networks. One of the interesting outcomes of some recent research was happiness is somewhat "infectious". E.g. if you have a friend or sibling who is happy and who lives within 1 mile, you're 25% more likely to be happy. The effect appears to also work indirectly. E.g. if a friend of a friend of a friend is happy, you have a 5-6% increased odds of being happy and if a friend of a friend is happy it up your odds of being happy by 10%.

So what does this have to do with Christmas and the C-brats? Well, if you "hang out" with happy C-Dory owners on this site, it will likely increase your happiness. I'm a happy guy and to some extent, it may be that I've caught that from the other happy souls here. So thanks to all of you! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :thup

I appreciate and share in the 2 Rogers' sentiments! I No small thanks to the camaraderie that we enjoy in the Brats (thanks, Mike and Bill :!: )

Happy Holidays to All!

Merry Christmas, Roger, Janet, and to all the Brats! When I check in here each day, it's like getting to "unwrap a gift"... you never know what you're going to get! :xlol Sometimes a laugh, sometimes an education, often a pause to ponder... but always the friendships brought about by our common bond. This place is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Best Holiday Wishes,

Last week we were standing on a high ridge, where Moses once stood, looking across the Dead Sea to the Promised Land where the first Christmas took place. Today Palestine is a place of mistrust, anger and sadness. We hope and pray that the true message of this season can be carried and shared by all - regardless of religious beliefs, political ideas, and ethnic differences.

merry christmas to all my c-brat friends.

Cathy and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Joyous New Year! :rose :rainbow :rose

I love this site with all our C-Brat friends and happy family! :smile

Cathy loves it, too, of course, because it keeps me busy, out of her hair, and she knows where I am most of the time! :xlol

Hope to see many of you in Seattle at the Boat Show and C-Brat Get together (providing the city can dig itself out if it ever stops snowing up there!) :xseek

To all Brats near and far. This site is one of the main reasons why we bought our boat. Yes the Dory is a great boat by itself - but the Brats help to make it an even finer boat.

We've met some of the Brats and even before we bought My Heaven we knew this was such a great group of people. We are fortunate to have people like the Brats in our lives.

Merry Christmas! God bless all. :xlol
