Michigan Inland Waterway

We, too, are new C-Dory owners and just spent three fabulous days at Indian River. Our 2005, 22 CD handled the rivers and lakes beautifully and we can now dock the boat without too much trouble! Lots of "boat-envy" people saw the CD.
Towed a larger boat stuck on Burt Lake back to Indian River. We love our CD!

Good on you both. I bet Sharon participated in all of the water gun fights! It is a lovely cruise destination. I like the area as a safe cruising destination even in late fall. The two state parks are deserted. One fall I was the only one at Aloha park period.

No water fights, no fish, few people...just peace and quiet. Saw a bald eagle on Burt Lake swoop down, catch a fish (guess there was ONE in the lake) and have his breakfast on a branch on the shore-awesome.

Hi Sharon & Dick,

Indian River and the Inland Waterway is also one of our favorite spots. There is always some place new to explore. We were there again for several days this past July. We had a couple of our grand kids aboard. They loved going through the lock at Cheboygan and out into Lake Huron. Did you hit Drost's Chocolates Shop in Indian River? A great spot to satisfy you sweet tooth. I bet Mark and Gordie have been there at least once.

I am glad to see that you are using and enjoying your boat.

Best regards,

We've been thinking about going there for around 3 years now. We were talking with 2 people in the last 2 days who both said that the fall colors were great. One was Larry K. If you decide to plan any more adventures, post a note. You might start a gathering.

We started our trip down to Chicago from the Indian River Marina after we had our C-Dory repowered there. That is a great shop and a nice bunch of people by the way.
We really enjoyed the cruise from Indian River up to Cheboygan on the Inland waterway.

Michigan has some beautiful cruising waters and we really enjoyed all the great people we met there.
Eric
