Motor flush ( saltwater )

When I trialered, I ALWAYS flushed after each trip. After reading the many threads on motor flushing for a boat in a saltwater slip, I just use the motor flusher = rabbit ears that have a split hose feeding both muffs. I slip it on at the end of the day with the 90 HP Honda tilted up in the harbor, drop it back down and run the freshwater for 10+ minutes through a warm motor, pulling the fuel line at ~half time to let the fuel run out. It gets plenty of pressure to run the telltale and flush the whole unit, and the external saltwater's pressure helps press and seal the muffs/ears to the OB intakes, even better than on dry land. I've checked the tell-tail's flow output, and it is always 100% fresh water, despite the muffs being under water. I leave the motor down for 5+ minutes or longer after pulling the muffs with a boat hook, to let the water in the upper drain out. This also prevents saltwater entering the lower unit to any degree. Then I tilt up very slowly to let the last water drain for the day. I do try to use SaltAway for the flush every so often.
