Dave from the Port Boat House just called and advised me my 22 cruiser has arrived at their dealership. I am going to look at it on Monday. They expect they will have it ready sometime next week. It's hard to believe but this time next week I am going to be out cruising. I will be able to officially call myself a C-Brat.

Anybody who is that enthusiastic about it is a real C-Brat. Then again, if you can wait 'til Monday to run down there.... Congratulations. :D

Congratulations. We can remember the excitement and the pacing around waiting for everything to be done! Not sure where Duncan is but if you're anywhere near the Gulf/San Juan Islands you're bound to run into Brats and you are certainly welcome at any C-Brat Get together. We can always use another Canuck Eh!

Thanks for the kind words!

Not sure where Duncan

Duncan is in the cowichan valley on vancouver island. Maple bay marina is close to me. I have year around boating in one of the nicest cruising areas. I think it will be great to see another c-dory when i am on the water. Looking forward to meeting some of you.

Fantastic & Congrats!! :beer

Jim D - I am glad you are finally getting your boat. You don’t need a boat to be a C-Brat but it certainly makes you feel more like one.

I hope I have the pleasure of crossing wakes with you sometime in the future. Enjoy your boat and try to make the Friday Harbor gathering.

From one Canuck to another, welcome to the group. Our numbers in this club are slowly rising, just like our BUCK!!!!!
Lets see, Duncan to Port Alberni, aah you could make it up in no time
We were working in the new Walmart up there a couple of years ago and I used to do Maple Ridge to Port Alberni and back in one day. Hey even if ya can just go and look at it through the windows or fence, that will help.
Congratulations or your purchase, did the final price get better as our dollar rose????
Hope to see you on the Strait or in the islands sometime. :smile

Sounds like it's time to call in sick... or deliriously excited.

Congratulations on the "new arrival" - now the real fun begins! :D

Best wishes,
Jim B.

The boat just arrived and it will be fully rigged and ready next WEEK? Wow, you call that waiting? There are a few stories around here...anyway congrats, too bad you are missing part of the "real" C-Brat experience - WAITING for the boat to get rigged!!!!

Jim...Thats Great !!! But I have not seen the name yet ??? Got one yet ??
I remember going to pick up my boat... what a thrill... on the way home my dog and stopped at a fast food restaurant for lunch....and had to take it out to the boat to eat....it was fun.... just sitting in OUR boat...
Trust me you are gonna love it.... probably one of the best things I ever did was buy that boat....... Now don't forget to book your trip to Seattle for the Boat Show.... My wife and I think that's one of the best events of the year... besides looking at all the new gear for your boat...You get to meet all the neat folks that make the boats....and lots of owners....(all friends)

Congratulations

Jim D,

Congratulations on your new CD22. I grew up on the Island, at Port Alberni and Sidney, and love it there. We are wanting to get up that way on our boat, and sure would enjoy seeing a local C-Dory on the water when we're there. Enjoy, be safe, and hope to meet, SBS, Friday Harbor, Alert Bay(??) or somewhere else on the water.

Well I went to Port Boat House today and looked at my new 22 for the first time. It was love at first sight. She is beautiful. They are outfitting her for me and it should be ready by next Tuesday.

Here on the Chesapeake there was one dealer we all used...when my '22 arrived i got the call and arrived to pick it up and bring it down the Bay (about 25 miles) on a cloudy Tuesday morning. When i walked down one of the finger piers, there was a young woman on my boat, washing, polishing, checking out little details...the sellers c ame down, last minute check out and I was on my way. It was like the smell of a new car... Great feeling...I have owned 8 boats...from 20' to 40', and this was the best experience of all of them. Have fun... The D Dory 22 is the classic boat of all the line, I think.

This weekend my lady and I went down the Bay to Tilghman Island for an annual celebration. Our boat was the focal point of endless questions and admiration. Get ready for that.

Welcome to the club.

I've got it!

The dealer called and the boat was ready. Went up and spent the day with them sea trials....going over everything etc.

They even had the the yamaha mechanic spend some time with me explaining my engine.

It;s been a great experience except for writing the check. Dave at Port Boat house , the dealer on vancouver island, was great. Actually the whole staff was great. They treated me real well and all in all it was a smooth transaction. I am very satisfied with dealership and the boat.

Just a side note.. when we were sea trialing the boat we went through a few wakes of other boats. I was surprised at how the c- dory handled. she seemed like a much heavier boat.

I can hardly wait until sunday when the wife and i are going to go cruising for the day. I think i'll pack a nice lunch for her and surprise her with it.

Congratulations Jim! There's something about taking delivery of a C-Dory, it's just indescribable. I'm sure you'll love your boat every bit as much as we love ours. In fact, we may be coming by your way next summer. I'll let you know more as we get closer to the date.

Once again, congrats, have fun and be safe.
