Need a storage buddy at Skyline (Anacortes)

I've had boats in the hanger, but now I want to put my new boat in one of the rollup garages next to the hanger. The spaces are nice, 19' wide by 28' long, have power and 24 hour access. A full space is $300/mo, 1/2 space is $175 - but if I can find a "buddy" we can split the full space for $150/mo (again, includes 15amp power for each boat). Height-wise there was no problem with the extra tall mast light on my boat, would probably have to lower an 8' antenna though.

I'm going to have to modify my new trailer with a foldaway tongue - I'm about 10" too long. You can purchase an annual pass to sling launch yourself for $475, or you can have the staff launch r/t for $30 - they also do a pressure wash and flush for $20, or you can use their pressure washer yourself if you are so inclined. I've asked the owner to give me a price for "trailer valet" service in the summer months which includes unlimited r/t launches, parking, and some other benefit (which I forget) and he's working on it. In the hanger, it runs an extra $100/mo.

Anyone interested?

sevearl questions and a suggestion.
1. is 28 the largest space?
2. will two 22's fit in 28 feet?
3. is this storage on the trailer?

I would need 40 ft for the boat on the trailer.

now for a suggestion. instead of the slinging the boat why not trailer over to washington park, a short distance, then bring the boat back and walk or bike back to the boat. Its free.

Yes, all of their spaces are 19' wide by 28' long - it's possible to fit two 22s side-by-side if you can get the length at or under 28'

Not sure I follow that - unless you are thinking with a tow vehicle? I suppose you could get a space to yourself and park the boat & trailer next to the vehicle.

Free like a puppy! Seriously, I call from home and the boat is sitting in the water ready to go when I show up. Even that - a 90 minute drive and then walk onto the boat - is almost unbearable for my wife. I have to think that one could find cheaper storage in that industrial area just before the Deception Pass turnoff - and then use the launch ramp of your choice. The point (to me) for being at Skyline is that they can handle everything for me. <smile>

Are the garages cheaper than the hangar? Is that why you want to rent one?

Not exactly - I'd prefer to be in the garage for a number of reasons, the biggest of which is that you're limited to access to your boat in the hanger to those hours they are open. In the winter, they close the doors and go home at 4:30pm - in the summer it's maybe 5:00pm. I had several days when I was only able to get an hour of projects done on the boat before they kicked me out.

The shed is also rather dark - the garage has a light, plus you can add your own (up to the 15amp capacity). I can store extra stuff in the garage - like downriggers and a dinghy - perhaps have a small workbench (and charging station for tools) - and so on. Plus I can drive right up to the boat - there are currently 110 boats in the hanger and it's a long damn walk to get to the ones in the back. They had to get a boat in the back out for a fishing tournament (this weekend?) and it took them 5 DAYS to get it out!

So, I really would prefer the garage. What I'm trying to do now is get the montly cost down a bit. The shed is $187 for a 22' boat, plus $15 for power. So a 1/2 garage for $175 (including power) is slightly less, and if I can find a buddy on my own it's $150 - plus it's more secure, more convenient, and more usable. Really, I think this would be great to share with another CBrat. :)

My boat is a 27 cd with a off shore bracket. The trailer has a long tongue so over all on the trailer its close to 40 ft

My Tom Cat is in that neighborhood, as well. Otherwise I might be interested...
