Need help for slipping rod holders

'Finally got my Perko, clamp-on rod holders partially installed. I got the 1 1/4 inch models for the TomCat, but am finding they tend to slip around, especially when under way. Putting the little Magna Newport grill or the smaller Magna tables into the holders only magnifies the problem.

I tried loosening them and putting non-slip strips under the clamps, but they still tend to slip and work loose.

Does anyone have a good way to stop the loosening of clamp-on rod holders?

Russ.... thanks, but... Ouch! I'm wondering if they have a stainless version of those perf strips they use to hold old chair leg dowels in place.

I was thinking of welding... then I could grind/file/polish back if I moved something.

Bob, I bought those thin, glued strips - maybe 5/8 inch wide. They work OK until they get hot. My main problem is the long leverage from the Magna rod-holder adaptors for the white shelves and the Newport grill.

John – can they be mounted next to an upright support, then make something to attach to the upright to keep it from slipping.

Dave, thanks, that sounds like it could be done without damaging the current rails... I'll have to do some catalog digging for stainless fittings. It's going to be difficult to hook something up that maintains the desired rod angles, though.
