need help with a garmain AIS boot disk

Hello Tom

My understanding is that you can program the MMSI into the AIS 600 ONE TIME. thereafter it must be sent back to garmin.

And look at item #18 in the instructions. Hopefully I'm wrong on this.

If it's 'used' but never had an MMSI input then no problem.

we already sent it to garmin and they set the MMSI numbers. My brother said we need some sort of set up disk?? I will have to look it up my self not sure what he is talking about.

Hello Tom,

Well in THAT case...I don't have the Garmin unit but looking at the Support on the Garmin page for that devise, it appears the you may need the disc to input the FCC call sign, vessel type, etc. Basically all the OTHER stuff you set up except the MMSI.
