new 25 owner??

We are confessing.

Joe and Ruth spiked our interest with the Ranger 25 SC this past week and we got the fever. We met them at the show yesterday and by the time we had left we had signed up for a new boat too. Jeff Messmer, the Livingstons, and the Ranger team make the purchase a positive decision. The old Traveler will be going on sale in the near future to make room for the new Traveler coming in May.

Toni and I are very happy and a little nervous, as can be expected when making a purchase like this. The new boat will be pale green or pale yellow, we can't decide. I posted two pictures in our album of the colors, the boats pictured may be 29s and the beige stripe is not shown. The Livingstons explained that the stripe on a light colored boat would be a lighter color beige than on a dark hull.

As Ruth and Joe explained: We found a whole lot more than a great boat when we bought our C-Dory, we found a wonderful group of people that share a love of boating. Those friendships will continue. Who knows, there maybe a used C-Dory angler somewhere in our future.

Holy Mackeral! Joe, you're gonna have to trade that CPO shirt in for one of those captain's outfits. And you get to use the big blue letters. Kidding aside, it's a beautiful boat and it couldn't happen to a nicer more deserving couple. Congratulations.

What a surprise ! I am very happy for you. I can't wait to see the new boats. It couldn't have happened to nicer people.
I guess it was a good thing we didn't go the the boat show this year. I seems the new boat fever was running wild. Best wishes to all.

Congratulations Russ and Toni. I thought I saw a new boat in your eyes when we were at the show last weekend. You may not have known, but I could see the spark starting to catch fire. :D We are so very happy for you and can't wait to see your new boat this summer.

Well if I win the lottery that new sc-25 is some nice boat . I guess I should be buying more Lottery tickets . Congrats guys nice upgrade for you two couples .

Geez, I had better take Cordell up to the last day of the boat show and introduce him to Jeff!

Congratulations to Ruth and Joe and to Russ and Toni. How very exciting.

Joe & Ruth, Russ & Toni,

To think that we bumped into you guys at the boat show and you were contemplating the tugs...awesome!

My families best wishes to the four of your for many, many years of enjoyment with the new toys.

Amen. Happy for them they caught it, happy for US we didn't, at least for now! I certainly CAN see some kind of Ranger in our future at some point (anybody like to buy a brewery?)...

Many thanks to all for the congratulations! We're just thrilled about our new tug. Hard to wait for the delivery date.

Have a few answers to the questions posted:

(1) The 22 Cruiser is going to be a Canadian boat, eh....Dusty, sorry about stealing it from ya. The new owners will throughly enjoy it. Look for her around Vancouver Island.

(2) We have decided not to purchase a trailer at this time so the current decision is to do the moorage at the marina.

(3) 25 Ranger SC (sport cockpit) has a larger cockpit. The Yanmar 150 is located totally outside the deckhouse/cabin with substantial noise reduction. Joe worked on tug boats so this isn't his first experience with diesels.

I can't believe the ample space & storage lockers throughout the interior and exterior. Looking forward to filling them with 'stuff.'...poor Joe!

Again, our thanks and we're looking forward to seeing our dear C-Brat buddies out on the water.

To Russ and Toni, we enjoyed your company and the pleasure of sharing this Ranger Tug experience with you. You folks are wonderful and we had a great time this weekend.

Oh, yeah! Terry and Ann (Rock-C)...hey, we don't need to go to a boat show, just join us at the factory and spend a little time there.....we might even help you pick a color. That's what friends are for......

OK, so a 16" longer cockpit. What was eliminated to get the space?

As Jeff mentioned at the show...not much. You have to look very closely to see it.

To the best of my memory: The doghouse behind the seats is slightly smaller, but there's still plenty of storage underneath. On the starboard side, the most noticeable loss is less counter space, but it's still very adequate.

Another huge improvement of the larger cockpit - the engine is now completely accessible from the cockpit hatch.

I'm several years away from moving up in size, if I do so at all. If it happens, this boat is definitely on the current short list. I've yet to be out on one, but the thought that has gone into the design is pretty impressive.

Joe and Ruth,

Since you've been "outed" here on the forum  , let us add our congratulations. That's going to be a wonderful boat for sharing good times on the water with your grandkids... that lower berth should suit them well... and, if not, maybe Joan and I can fit in there? :D Wishing you lot of good times on the water, and we look forward to the next time our wakes cross. BTW, having that boat in the water will make for a llfestyle change for you two: more time AT the marina and EVEN MORE time on the water. You're going to love it!

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

PS - Our congrats and well wishes to Russ and Toni, too! That Ranger Tug is a beautiful boat. :thup :thup

Wow, what a surprise! Times 2!!

Congratulations Joe and Ruth, Russ and Toni! Sounds like you'll be cruising in style this summer. It couldn't happen to nicer people.

Congratulations to the downstream Columbia folks, too! It seems like just yesterday Toni was wrecking snowmobiles, now her and Russ are Ranger Tug owners. This is all too cool!

Ruth & Joe,
Congratulations,
I thought you two looked happy and excited when I saw you at the boat show. Rangers are great boats and Jeff Messmer is one of the best guys and best salesmen that I've ever met. I definitely don't need another boat and I still wanted to look at the new 25 and 29 Rangers.

They are beautiful, well thought out boats and they fit the new "trailerable trawler" style perfectly.
Regards,
Lyle
