New Ads

Howdy all,

Mike and I have decided to replace the Google Ads currently being displayed here. Over the next several weeks, they will be replaced with ads that we are selling directly to trusted boating related businesses.

With the Google Ads, we are sending folks towards unknown entities, that we have no control over. With the new ads, we'll be directing people towards businesses we know and trust, and who are very familiar with our community. Those of you who have been here a while, will recognize most, if not all of the new advertisers.

The new ads will be more obvious, but they'll not impact use of the site. The C-Brat site logo is being redesigned, and the ads will display up top next to it, where "The C-Brats" text is currently located. Once the box of Google Ads currently located below the menu is gone, all the site content will shift up slightly, resulting in slightly more content being visible when you first visit any page.

We'll announce more details when things go live.

Ahhh, I've noticed the prep work for this and the "hidden" ads that were on the page. Anybody else find these in the past couple of weeks?

No worries about the ads - do what you got to do - we all appreciate your efforts.

Yes I agree. I commend both of you for your outstanding service and dedication. This site is very informative and no question goes unanswered. Have you considered adding a Paypal donation service for site expenses in addition to ads? My personal opinion is we contribute together and send you a gift card, coffee or some Bayliner stuff as gag gift for your time and effort. I can mail a check tomorrow. I think one of active C brats should take the lead. Everyone knows this site requires a huge time commitment and a lot of technical expertise to "make it happen" plus your overall boating contributions and experiences. If nothing occurs, I say thanks a million.

Thanks for the kind words and offer of support, Brent.

I can't speak for Mike, but I draw the line at taking in donations from our members. I really can't adequately explain why - it just feels dirty. Not "hanky-panky" dirty - that I could live with. It's more like "lying to your best buddy" dirty.

While I won't turn down free libations at our brew-hahas, members can pay us back, by doing what they always have...participating here, and attending the gatherings. That's far more rewarding than a few PayPal bucks.
