New angler in the redwoods

Hi all! I bet I took longer to get my new boat wet than most of you.

I took delivery of my 22 angler from EQ sales on April 7. What a nice boat. Les and Kathy put up with me thru the order process (I originally was going to get the c-tug) and set up my new boat with the options I wanted. Their personal touches and knowledge make them a top notch dealer.

When I got it home I then had to complete tax season ( I am a CPA) and then a trip to Mexico, cause my wife was not into a boat trip. When all tasks were complete then I started riggin the boat. So far JRC 1800, several radios, two scotty 1106's, and a interphase sonar.

Finally it is complete enough for me to use. My step son and I went out yesterday for around 6 hours or so. I am so please with the boat. It handles great, get out of the cold, good fuel economy, great fishin cockpit, quality construction, lite load to trailer, shallow draft for launching and the salty look.

Thanks to all of your posts and pictures, I feel I have made the best boat purchase for me. This web site is great. When I can figure out the camera and postings I will add pictures.

So how many days after delivery before I finally got the boat wet(rain does not count). 45 days.

Tuberider (got a name?)

Congratulations on "getting wet"
You took the prize-- I had Fishtales in the water within an hour of taking delivery! Great boats.

Congrats on the boat. To post pictures you need one of the admins to set up a photo album for you. Usually it's titled by the name of your boat. Then you can do a search on "post photos" and you'll find all the info you need.

Good luck with the salmon season in your neck of the woods!

Congrats and welcome aboard. You will love your boat and enjoy the time on her for sure. Hope to meet and see ya on one of my west coast visits.

Hi Tuberider.

Congradulations on your new Angler. I saw the new C-tug with a top at the old factory sight. Nice looking boat. What made you change your mind about the Tug and go with an Angler? They are two different boats.

I was up in Washinghton last weekend picking up my boat from the factory. I had my radar and antenna's moved to an arch so that I could carry my dingy on the roof.

I am going to do an open ocean cruise from Crescent City harbor to Woodly Island in Humboldt Bay later this summer. If you are into cruising let me know. I welcome company.

Enjoy your boat and I will be looking for you on the water.

Hi all! I was not expecting the replys.

My name is Jeff Corning. I live in Crescent City, Ca. I have been here for over 25 years. I love boating and water sports and fishing. I surf, wind surf, jet ski and boat. I am also a coxswain in cg auxiliary.

No name yet for the new boat. I have been thinking of redwood c. Since I surf alot I was thinking of c surf. C tax break is good but I don't deduct my boating expenses and the IRS office is near by, I will skip that name.
I could deduct some of the expenses if I were to make it a cgaux facility but our auxiliary uses a cg 25' safeboat for operations.

Cruising to Eureka would be fun if the weather permits. It is about 50 miles away.

How about:

Water-Tax-C

If I am correct... ya need a head, a bed, a means to cook for it to be a second home tax deduction.... maybe??? Do tell.

How about

C-Tax-I

and what Pat (Byrdman) said. I know a CPA can figure a way around it. If you can figure out how I can claim three houses, three boats, a camping trailer that way, you'll be my hero.

Pat,

From an article in the Seattle PI to claim the boat as a second home and deduct the interest on the boat loan -

"Living on a boat isn't required. All that's needed is a sleeping platform, toilet and cooking facilities, and some indication that the owner stays overnight on the boat at least 14 days a year, according to Internal Revenue Service regulations."

Sea-P-A ???

You've got us beat on the time from delivery to launch by five days. We took delivery in Portland,OR on April 18,2005. First launch was May 28 in Valdez,AK.
