Just to make you feel worse, I read her daily notebook online for free. I found it interesting that she looked up one side and down the other for a boat to do that trip in. She must have looked at 30 boats before picking the C-Dory (Even though she said in her notes, that she didn't like it).
Based on what I read, she was looking for hand outs all the way and when she didn't get one, like a marina, charged her slippage, she didn't have anything nice to say about it.
She put the boat up for sale as soon as the trip was done. Wore out motor and all. It was listed here for some time. I would be interested in where it ended up.
As far a the book is concerned, it was more an adventure in her own genealogy then a work of history/nonfiction.
