New C-Dory owners

Hello C-Brats,
Just purchased a 2003 C-Dory 22'Cruiser to use in the Erie Canal. We purchased the boat from Andrew Morey in Melfa, Virginia. Towed the boat to our home in Rochester, NY. Special thanks to Steve Baum for helping us find this boat and checking it out for us.
We're novice boat owners so we are looking forward to getting to know other C-Brats and learning from you.
We haven't named the boat yet, but will add that as soon as we do. We'll share pictures when we figure out how to post them.
Unfortunately our boating season is short in Rochester so we'll be preparing for storage soon.
Looking forward to using the boat and hearing from any other C-Dory owners.

Congrats on your new to you C-Dory purchase. They are great boats and the folks here on CBrats are very helpful on any and all facets of CD ownership/repair/remodel etc.
The shortness of your boating season is nothing like ours. Mine is over for this year and will not be able to use it again until late next April.

Jack and Pat! Congratulations on the New to You boat! In order to post pictures in album, you need one of those. One of the nerds, either Bill or Mike will create one for you now that you've indicated an interest. In the meantime, if you have photos anywhere else on the web (PicasaWeb, Flickr, or any of those free ones) you can link to them with the Img button at the top.

If you've got a Wallas or any other way to heat yourself up in the cabin, your season will last until the ice forms! Even after that if it isn't too thick.. :roll:

It's nice to know that there is another CD-22 in Rochester! It will be nice to have another boat (of any kind, but esp. a C-Dory) on the Erie Canal!
 
I have not known Steve very long but I can tell you that he is the salt of the earth! He and my wife work together and he is making great effort to assist in convincing her that a larger pilot house boat is needed in my driveway!! :lol:
 
There is no short season on a C-Dory. Just head south with it 8)

Welcome from a couple of other central NY C-braters, we are from the Utica area but do a lot of boating on the canal. On our last trip we put in at the Seneca Lake State park and wandered up the Seneca-Cayuga and Erie canals and to the west a ways, lots of great boating and villages on the Erie out your way. Next year we plan on getting further west. Maybe we will see you then. Unfortunately you are right about this time of year, time to start thinking about either winterizing the boats or hauling them south. Nice thing about trailerable boats, having a choice!
