Hi Butch;
Yes, I can see why you would be confused. The web page does say max HP is 150HP; but, the factory guys and the glossy flyer CD hands out say the max is 180HP. This flyer also said there is 30 gal of water (which is correct, also), verses 20- gal on the web page.
With regards to the engine spray I talked to the rigger today and they agreed that the engines are too low. They will have to pull the boat back to their shop to reset the height with respect to the transom bottom and the ventilation plate.
I will be setting this CD25 up as a USCGAUX Facility. With that in mind, I went with the redundancy with 4-blade HONDA SS 15" pitch props. The 'go-fast' mode is not my norm. I like to putter and wanted the pulling power for when I have a vessel in tow.. If I need to have a fast SAR response, I have the power to do so.
Yes, this CD25 has trim tabs as a standard item that also automatically retract when the engine is turned off. This is a great feature for when you have your boat pulled for dry storage( I do) or placed on a trailer.
As to the ride, I am WELL PLEASED! I ran through some heavy wakes from several large, fast vessels without any problem and it remained a dry ride.
I looked at several other boats before I made my choice. Some were the Grady White, Parker, Rosborough and C-Hawk. None have the 'bang-for -the-buck' or the great use of space.
Hope I answered your questions..
