New member 22 or 25?

I plan to retire from the police department in about 2+ years. My plan is buy a C-Dory at the Annapolis boat show in the fall of next year (06). I'm wavering between the 22 and the 25. I like the extra room on the 25, but like the price of the 22.
Does anyone who may have owned both have any recommendations?
Also, is it an option to exclude the marine toilet and holding tank on the 25? If it is, is there a price break for that? (hope I don't sound cheap on that question)
I've been researching boats for about 3 years and the C-Dory seems to be the best value on the market (at least in my price range).
I forgot to mention, I will be aboard solo.
I've been reading this forum for about as long as I've been boat shopping and feel as if I know you all.
Looking forward to hearing replies.
Thanks in advance.

Our experience includes four years with our 22 (92-96) and one year with our 25. They are two vastly different boats! We pulled the 22 with a four-cylinder Toyota, the 25 requires a towing capacity of 7000lb. The main reasons we selected the 25 were 1. the stand-up head (sounds like you want to delete this feature); 2. hot water (at least at the dock); 3. more room for extended cruising (we're retired too).

We would advise you to carefully examine both models and sea trial each. After you compare the fit of each boat with your needs, the winner will surface. You cant go wrong with either boat But if you're going solo, the 22 is much easier to handle.

Yes, some 25's (classic models) came standard with a porta-potty in place of the marine head.

I'm sure that others with more experience than ours will weigh in on this topic. Good luck with your search. :)

Glad to see ya in the Pub, Sargent Jim :thup
Here is my $ .02, but I think I may get some echoes( or deserved static for speakin' for them) from Tyboo Mike and Dusty..I think the 22 is for you . Here's why:

Tyboo mike has a 25 Cruise Ship and has stated that for fishing and handling alone his ole 22 was the real deal. Just plain easier to single hand.

And as for Dusty,he has been up and down-sized on C-Dory's ,but is gonna ga back with the 22. I think it just fits him just right.

As for us , if we weren't looking to cruising extensively as a couple in the future and staying out of "base support" for cruises, we would've been very happy with our 22, but we are moving up to the 25 for the extra room ,the head ,etc
