Now that you have a C Dory 22, it is versatile enough that other boats may not be necessary, Many of us are ex or current sailors, and do understand the importance of sailing in our lives.
I have done only about half of the "great Loop". The entire Atlantic Coast ICW was in a 62' ketch. Even on the Gulf Coast ICW--only a few miles by water from our home-- we most often see sailboats powering. This has to do with wind direction, velocity and shifts. We sold our Cal 46 after sailing to Florida--granted the M 26's shoal draft makes it better for "sailing" along some areas. But the cabin of the C Dory gives one shelter from the harsh sun, and from the often rain squalls: truly a 4 season boat. Some M 26's have joined our Lake Powell C Dory cruises.
Thanks for the information--the C Dory is an excellent fishing boat.
