Whew, Patty may not let me go to the SBS next January! But I am looking forward to seeing this puppy! (Really, dear - the CD25 is all the boat I am interested in until we get the Nordic!)

Hi, Leo

Don't know for sure, but it sounds like #1 hull will be out of the mold about 10 May. I'm told it will take about 6 weeks to assemble and finish. If everything is good with the large molded parts, then they'll start # 2 (mine) immediately.

Stay tuned . . .

Got an email from Jeff over the weekend... He indicated TC255 Hull #1 was going to Greenville, NC to East Carolina University...around Jun sometime. I think Scaley looks target on with his estimate. What Jeff did not say...was if this boat was to be powered at the plant (with twin 135s) prior to shipping across county, or after.. It will be great to see one of these powered up, with custom EZ-Loader trailer.... going down the highway and launched!!!! I would love to be there for that launch... and ride... and look see. Man, students are getting VERY MUCH nicer boats than when I was in college back in the late 70s.... We thought our old Ski Barge with the 70 evenrude was bad to the bone.... Unheard of for a TC255.... Must be another government grant... There has to be a story there...

SHIFTING THIS MESSAGE FLOW/FORUM/THREAD OVER TO THE TOPIC OF "TC25 UPDATE" :disgust :disgust   ....

WE HAVE TWO THREADS ABOUT THE SAME STUFF GOING... SO LET'S JUST JUMP BACK OVER TO TC25 UPDATE FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION.

WE WERE TO ATTEMPT TO MERGE THESE...BUT NOT DO-ABLE... THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED INPUT...

SEE YOU OVER @ TC25 UPDATE.....

Any East Carolina University folks...or Greenville, NC folks watching our site??? Or, does anyone know who at ECU is the POC for the boat they have coming very soon??

Scaley: How is your target date of 10 May looking? I too would like to be there for a little kicking around....but, with me on the east side...I may just have to wait a bit...or see it in Carolina... Not that bad of a drive for me... Who is the POC for the school getting #1?

My neighbor purchased the Demo Tom Cat 24 From Three Rivers Marine in Florida, and I contacted them about the Tom Cat 25. It turns out that they have been dropped as a C Dory dealer because they now carry the Cape Cruiser line.

I am really interested in a Tom Cat 25--any update on the production and availability? The nearest dealer to the Gulf seems to now be in Missouri!

We just conpleted our annual C Dory trip--this time to the San Juans and Lake Powell.

Byrdman will be at the factory this afternoon talking with Jeff Messmer and looking at the progress of TC255 #1. We'll have an accurate update late today or tomorrow. Pictures of the assembled "parts" on the way to sanding/finishing should be available soon, too.

We will be posting some photos of the new 255 Tomcat this afternoon on the owners groups. Hull # 1 is well on its way.

I have been interviewing several new dealers in Florida. I am spending all next week in Florida meeting with the top prospects in person.

Gonna be up at the Factory today to pickup Laurna Jo. Got her first Service , which was mucho overdue , due to Tall Ships duties.. Also some repairs made to some boo boos it contracted while on duty too. As usual great service by the factory, Chet looks like he has got the job pretty well scoped out.

Anyway, will look for the Byrdman up there!!

Hello. I am a very satisfied owner of a TC24. I respect the desire to make the new TC25 look like the rest of the C-Dory family, but I have always liked the sleek aerodynamic look of the original. Personally, I would choose it over the new design on looks. But the new design has other very desirable features. For one, I have always longed for more horsepower. The catamaran hull just starts to feel right at 4600 RPMs on the Honda 90s (about 28 MPH), and if feels even better at 5200 RPM (about 32 MPH). But you cannot run too long at that high RPM for the sake of the motors. I can say that the hull could easily handle the power of a couple of Honda 150s. The new Evinrude E-tec midrange (130-175) just announced would allow me to up the horsepower on my boat and stay within the original design weight capacity -- but as soon as I start to think that way I remind myself how running one Honda 90 allows me to troll perfectly at any speed from 1 MPH on up. Since I mostly fish, I would hate to lose the slow trolling capability. But to anyone wondering how life is with the catamaran - it is a great boat. I have put 500+ hours on mine and it had 320 hours on it when I bought it. The boat and Hondas run perfect in all weather and in all sea conditions.

Just talked to Scott at the Factory (thanks!). The first 25 is ready to be launched next week. He said that the first 6-8 are spoken for--production will be 2 to 3 a month.

The factory will be looking for a dealer on the Gulf Coast this next week.

I will be very interested to see both interior and exterior photos, as well as performance numbers on the boat.
