hiddeen phone charger

I was looking for a mounting solution for my phone on the boat as i hate cables and wanted to limit them as much as possible. While watching a you tube about the rebuilding and customization of a sail boat I picked up on a quick idea, which they did not show case, that i have tracked down. Its a hidden wireless charger. i was thinking of one on the dash and one on the table.

I could only find this product distributed in the UK--

I have dual USB ports in 4 places on the C Dory 25, and I use a Coetech wireless, corded charger which runs off the 12 V powered ports. Granted it is not cordless, but one of the ports is on the shelf in front the the "navigator's seat--and that is a handy place to charge items. It charges my I phone SE 2020 easily although it is an Otter Box case. I wonder how well these "hidden" chargers will do going thru formica, fiberglass or thin wood plus a case? (I'm not bothered by a few wires in isolated areas.).

Bob= that is exactly what they are made for. And what did you think of the boat remodel ? some interesting ideas that illustrate the differences between how space is seen by different users. Who the boat was marketed to years ago and who uses it now.

I think there are some innovations. We built a 38' sailboat, as a world cruiser. This as after I had several ocean passages under the belt. After we both had sailed on that--on passage and coastal, Marie wanted a dryer, and larger boat.

My concerns about their design is both as a sea boat, a boat for passages (which they want to make--like trans Atlantic), and a boat for anchor or dock side living. I know that Marie and I would not be happy in that specific layout. For example where is there a table to eat at? Even when on 3000 mile passages we ate most of our meals at a table. Open spaces--which have not real primary function? A fall waiting to happen.

I don't know much about the boat--for example fuel capacity, Engine power, sails and age of rigging etc. There is no water maker--and 60 gallons of water is fine if you are a minimalist. But in many parts of the World, water is not potable for us. So we never took on water except at a few marinas where we knew the water was good. Both of our cruising boats had 500 gallons of water, and at least 500 gallons of fuel...The average cruising boat usually has 30 to 60 of water and of fuel.

I went overboard with Ram mounts on the bridge of Alure.

The Ram mount to stbd is a Qi charger. Its USB plug i have hidden behind dash.
I needed to charge and also run the Navionics app to augment the Simrad with a passing glance

The Ram mount to port is a standard x-grip holding handheld remote VHF that also wirelessly charges with something proprietary.

both the smaller ones are based on the b-ball.

the Simrad display is also Ram mount with the large ball and socket.
 
Dwight that looks nice. I was looking at the ram but you still have the cord to the charger . THe unit I have on order is the Rokk Scanstrut SC-CW-05E Rokk Wireless Edge with the wire going down and out the base. I will hard wire it to the fuse panel so its always on. when do I get a ride on the new boat?
 
Bob. I hear you on the water supply. They have a whole site of videos and live on board full time for 5 years now. crossed the atlantic twice and most of the pacific already. Their first boat and no sailing experience when they bought it. crazy young people.

they eat at the big wood table that doubles as a desk. I do like the open design they have created. I hate being crowded. I know I own a cdory but its a big cdory and I just cut 5 inches off the table to great more space.
