Been a lover of boating all my life, have owned 17, but not yet a C-Dory! Working with a dealer in Florida right now on a new 26 Venture. Just came off a 2 week venture moving a 32' Nordic Tug through the Trent-Severn Waterway for a friend and ran across 2 of these sexy little boats along the way. Now I've gotta have one! Joined here for knowledge, owner experiences and to keep an eye on what may hit the market. Hi Y'all Doin'? Real name is Don. I live in Atlanta, GA and closing on my second (retirement) home in Panama City Beach on 7/20. I can't see living in such a great boating area with out a Dory! I've owned tons of boats and currently have a 27' pontoon and a 23' AquaSport Offshore. Any great 25's or 26's for sale out there??

Don, welcome to the cult. Wefings posted a CD 25 w/twin Suzuki 115s, and our for sale section usually has a 25 every now and the. I think you'll enjoy a C Dory....

Get the 2017 TC255 TomCat Marc Grove has at Wefings Marine in Appalachicola, FL. Great boat, and cheaper than many starter homes.
Perfect retirement expedition-quality trailer boat you can trailer all over the continent without special permits at 65 MPH with any used 2500HD diesel truck.
Be on the TS canals in 2-3 easy trailering travel days from Panama City.
Stable like a barge at rest, rides like it's on rails in any chop up to 3 ft real seas (which is Small Craft Advisory territory, and we shouldn't be out in less than a 50 footer anyway...but it's GREAT to know you can, and safely).
No Head by the Bed. Boat #13.
Downside, as always, it's expensive...but you can't take it with you, so enjoy!
Happy Shopping!
John

Welcome aboard Don. Lots of great boating along the Gulf Coast--and if you get up the Pensacola/Perdido Bay way, we have a dock waiting for any C Brat at our home.

Most of us have been life long boaters, and found one of the c Dory's to be perfect .
The one we like the best is the Tom Cat 255. If you have not seen one, or been for a ride, check with Marc Grove at Wefings! (My wife has still not forgiven me for selling ours.)

Good on the House in Panama City. If you get tired of the beach parties, come on up to Pensacola for a little culture....or you could go back to Atlanta...no..?

Thanks for the welcomes and tips. Not a twin hull guy. I like the V's, even though the CD's don't have much of a V hull. I've got the 2500 Diesel in place as we also just bought a new Open Range for travel once I can pry my wife into retirement. Wonder if I could pull the 26 Venture behind the 39' camper behind the crew cab? I just might qualify for the "Dash Riprock" replacement.

I was a monohull sailor all of my life. That is until aging caught up with us, and back pain was an issue in monohulls. The ride is far superior in the cats; mostly if you want to do planing speeds. If you want to stay displacement speed, then the Venture 26 or C Dory 25.
