Nice find off Outer Brewster Island (Boston) yesterday

Yesterday I dove off Outer Brewster Island with friends. We were exploring a new (to me) dive site.

I happened across a dish fragment with the complete 'maker' markings intact. In fact, I assumed it might be relatively 'new' based on the condition. I decided to bring it up anyway.

I was shocked and pleased to discover it was made between 1878 and 1880! Here is a good picture of the fragment and here is a link that identifies it: http://www.thepotteries.org/allpotters/271.htm

Cool find!

Kool ...Are you diving in Dry Suits up there?

Year round! Below 60' the water is high 40's (i.e. 48 degrees) for a good part of the summer. In the dead of summer we will reach 65 degree water temps on the surface which makes it nice for decompression dives....maybe reaching 50 or 52 at depth.

During the winter the temps get down to the low 30's....this past winter I experienced my coldest dive ever (14 years diving) and we read 33 degrees F on three different computers. That was just silly cold.
