Whos cd 22 is that on page 10 of the March Issue?

I'm not sure what you are looking at. My Feb/Mar issue has two articles about C-Dorys. Nothing is on page 10 but ads. On page 32 is an article about C-Dory Marine and hosting the Customer Appreciation Night ( SBSGBT week-end). There is a picture of Pat and Patti (Daydream) that would scare you if you didn't know who it was. Might scare you anyway. On page 54 "At the Ramp" Venture 23 C-Dory is a 2 page article about that boat.

David,

I think you are looking at Nor'westing magazine. Northwest Yachting is the large size mag.

I think page ten of Northwest Yachting is a photo of the CD powered by the old Evinrude when the factory did the fuel milage comparison by running both boats around Bainbridge Island.

It is Northwest Yachting. Yes it is a big format and just says March 2008 single month. Page 10 is the index page Claret red and white no markings and an old evinrude. Looked kind of strange new boat old motor.

Yeah, I guess I will have to get down to the Bank of West Marine (where you only make deposits) and pick up a copy of Nor'Westing with the scary picture before they are all gone...if anybody could snag one for us, we would appreciate it!

My apologies for mixing the names. The picture is still pretty scary though.

I read the article a few days ago and remember it fairly well...here goes: I believe the article is comparing the fuel efficiency of two outboard motors, one twenty years old and the other a new model. They were put in two identical C-Dorys and a great deal of effort was made to have everything equal and using identical small fuel tanks with just one or two gallons of gas . The boats were then launched at the same time in Seattle's Elliott Bay and the Seattle newspaper filmed from above watching to see which ran out of gas first. Surprise, the older motor ran out of gas quite a bit sooner and the conclusion was newer motors are more cost effective. The boats were provided by the factory.
