Ok I am soon part of the C-Brat family

Well I am sorry to him that I am also using his name. (I had a sailboat back in the early 80s I called sea-hawk).

I appreciate the info. As I said in an earlier post this is, as far as I can tell, not a C Brats boat. But it will be. :D

I have been a Seahawks fan since 1976 a 38 plus year lifer. I even have a Seahawks tattoo with a 12th man flag and a Superbowl 48 banner on my arm. I don't know how to upload a picture of it to this site or I would.

Any ways I sold my Ranger 33 "Black Dragon" and now my C-Dory has to be C-Hawk.

Of course it cant be as good as Da Nag it is not RED.

Yer gonna fit right in here.

But man...now I'm thinking I might have to show up at Victoria on my Triumph. You and your new hippy friends (Lizarry, my sis and bro-in-law) need somebody present with a little class to offset those hogs. 8)

Ouch - did I just say that? Shots across the bow!

Not to hijack rainger's welcome thread too terribly, but assuming things work out with inspection and sea trial tomorrow - Da Nag is staying local to me. Deal was struck with a great guy and his wife in Sequim.

Welcome to the nuthouse, rainger - look forward to meeting you.
I am laughing to hard. Wine has set in. Mariners have won again and go ahead and try to bring your triumph and sit next to my hippy friends Larry and Liz. Harleys rule lol.

I will try to get my boat over to PA in the next month to "show off'.

As you know I knew about your sale to Sequim. Congratulations and I am sure all will be well with your inspection. The guy would be an idiot not to finish what he got. But if he doesn't sorry I am out of the running.

The Island is getting positively thick with C-Dory's all of a sudden. Welcome and hope to cross wakes with you in the future.

Thanks jeep. Well the reason I got one is a buddy of mine who I have beers with is a big fishing fan and he was ranting and raving about his buddy who has a Dory here in Victoria. Don't know the guys name.

Any way I started researching and it was either get one of these boats or get a toy hauler to put my Harley in and go south with it.

I figured having the boat was more flexible and gave me greater opportunities in the travel field and no more monthly moorage.

Hope to meet up with you some time this summer.

Drinking wine, watching the Mariners, waiting to pick up my C-Dory, and posting on C Brats. Life is good.

Welcome to the pub. You are going to fit right in here. A glass of wine, a new to you C-Dory, a regular on C-Brats. Shame about the Mariners bit though

I am meeting up with Liz & Larry in early Aug for a few days cruising, maybe you can tag along? Also the Victoria gathering. See you there.

Martin.

Rainger, if you get a chance to cruise a bit with Martin and Andrea and Larry and Liz, you will have a kick for sure. The tats will stand you in GOOD STEAD, just trust me on this one!

Oh I defiantly will be meeting you especially if you live in Comox. One of the draws for me to get this boat is to be able to drive to Campbell River and then be in Desolation sound in only an hour as opposed to my sail boat which took 4 days to get there.

And easy on the Mariners they are trying hard this year. :beer

WOW, this is getting exciting. Goes to the old saying that the only constant is change.

More C-Dory's on Vancouver Island. (My growing up place)
A new C-Dory (C-Brat in Sequim ... Yahoo! :D
More motorcycle C-Brats coming out of the ah...... wood work
And summer is just started.

rainger, Congratulations on the new boat, on coming on board here, and having the good sense to be a sailor too. (Many of us were, some still are and we all have at least one common passion  time on the water.

You had us all going there for a bit, (the DaNag thing, but it's all good.) My boat is an 06 and I'm approaching 800 hours. Sure hope to be able to make the Victoria CBGT and get to meet. Looking for ward to the fish and chips. (Anybody remember the C-Brat take over at Fish on Fifth

Well I am now in so deep into this C Brats community I guess I have no choice on Wednesday but to buy the boat regardless. I cant now come home empty handed now can I?

PS: Pat there are far too many red boats in that picture you posted earlier in this thread. :P

You might start out defiantly, but I guarantee you will "mellow out" a bit, especially in the evenings!

ROFL yes that didn't come out as "definitely" now did it.
Oh for sure I can pound back the beer and wine with the best of them and mellow out in the evening.

Actually I never said anything about Da Nag. Because it had been posted that she had been sold, and then I started a thread about buying a boat everyone assumed it was Da Nag. I thought it was funny. But I felt I should set the record straight.

Yes a sailor, tattoos, Harley owner, Chevy owner, Seahawk devotee, and soon to be a C Dory owner in what looks like one of the best groups one could want to be part of. :D

Oh and PS: I live on the rock the only place I would live in Canada.

Since Da Nag brought it up, this isn't a thread hi-jack. So, what year is the Triumph? Classic or you don't need to work on it (new?)

And rainger, Campbell river is the gateway to the West coast of Vancouver Isle. Just haul it out to Gold River and you're set. Another great advantage of a C-dory.

This was my promise if they won the Super Bowl. You will note that there is room for more banners when they win more.

I know this has nothing to do with C-dorys but I am led to believe there are more tattooed sailors in the brats.

Ok it is official I am a C Brat. My new C-Dory is safe home in Victoria.

The day yesterday started with a 4:20am wake up to be at the customs by 5. The 6:10am Black Ball sailing got me to PA at 9:30am. A drive to Brownsville near Silverdale Washington had me looking at the boat by 9:30.

An inspection and sea trial later I decided to buy the boat. Everything worked well. I may have some issues with the props on the twin Honda 40's but that is a discussion for another thread.

By 1pm we made the deal and while the paper work was being done I went and hooked up the trailer that had been sitting for 5 years and the fun began. The trailer would not back up. The brake solenoid kept locking the wheels.

After much frustration I finally got the boat loaded on the trailer another night mare with the planks not adjusted right IMO. Of course the wheels were way low.

We finished some of the paper work and then off to the gas station to fill the tires. Did their air work? Of course not. Am I starting to wish I had never purchased this boat, You betcha. Off to another gas station.

Later the final titles were delivered to me it was now about 4;30pm. So back to Port Angeles I missed the last ferry getting in at 5:45pm but no worry there was a 9:30pm sailing.

Of course to add to everything I went though yesterday the ferry was late so we didn't depart until 9:50 and arrived in Victoria at 11:15pm. Now the dreaded CUSTOMS. After shelling over thousands and thousands of dollars in GST and PST I started the final drive home at almost 12:30 in the morning.

Anyway she is here today all pressure washed all old name and stickers removed, everything taken off the boat and cleaned and hopefully a wax job tomorrow. I still need to take her to the Yacht Club and put her up on blocks so I can re do the bottom, strip and sand the old and put an nice new coat of paint.

Finally I am taking the trailer to a marine place for servicing and to bring it to code in Canada. Hopefully I will be out on the water within 2 weeks with a clean fully fixed and serviced boat with all the toys.

Thanks to all of your for your help suggestions and PM's that really helped me in the process. See you on the water.

The HIN is CDO22382F505 I am assuming that means 22 foot cdory being the 382 one built (in that year?) F (don't know what f means) and 505 I guess says they started building it in May of 05.

Congratulations! I can relate to a few moments of "Why did I just do this!?" as I started my C-Dory ownership with a ~3,000 mile drive on a trailer that was supposedly all fixed up, but during the course of the trip revealed that the "craftsmanship" of the people at the facility that did the work was not up to much (to say the least).

But, I got all that ironed out (although it took a few stops and some $$), and of course at heart I was thrilled to have my boat. I hope you will love yours too. And there is something to be said for getting to know your boat/trailer and "making them yours."

But we need photos! :smile

Probably the 382 was the 382nd by the manufacturer who used the CDO initials. (certainly not for the year 05). The F stands for June, which is when the boat was started. 05 is the model year. If it had been in July, most likely it would have been 06. (and an 06 model)

Congratulations--and too bad it was such an issue with the trailer!
