Opinions on this as a dingy please

I strongly considered using a Fold bote, but finally opted out. Very difficult to open up from the folded transport mode, in the cockpit of a C-Dory. I liked the always floatable idea, even when folded, Weight was borderline high, and storage for seat and board for use in deploying (read unfolding) was "more stuff on board". they are reasonably seaworthy, and will float full of water, so that part was all good. They do leave marks on a light colored gel coat.

Wish you the best. Its a good find and a decent price.

best dingy we ever owned! indistructable, light, & would plane w 4 hp (2 people). 12ft would be too big for c-dory (IMO). dog loved the floor. just like a water bed for him. would jump off the swim platform to go nap in the dink. it is pretty ugly though. we plan to get another one when we finish our bahama cruise.

That one is the older style--the newer ones have a much better transom, and will run better with an outboard. Also note that he has to put clamps and extra wood in place for the motor--sort of jerry rigged.

It will be hard to fold out on any C Dory--and I would pass on that boat. But I favor inflatables--which I have been using for 50 years now, with only one boat having problems.

Even though I have a 10 ft Porta-bote, we opted to get an inflatable for our dinghy. Not enough room to open the Porta-bote in the cockpit, and the seats take up more room than the boat.
