Osprey's New Home

After several weeks and weather too warm for a lot of hard work our boathouse is complete! Have added some visuals to our album.

The contractors staging is still up so some of the lumber in these pics will be removed.

We can raise her up to provide over 6 feet of air space between high tide and the boat bottom. We won't leave her hanging for hurricanes but all other natural events are well covered.

Many thanks to the brats that shared advice.

hi dan,
nice job, boat house looks terrific! looks like it's a two slip dock? looking closer i don't see the ceiling fans, wet bar, frig and where are to scantly clad bar maids?
other than those minor flaws, great job.
in two weeks linda and i will be picking up our new boat from a dealership in huntersville al. looking forward checking out guntersville lake, tn river.
best regards
pat

ps: now when did you say the open house was?

dan,
i was checking out your album pictures, got to ask, what the hell happen on that accident. looks like the boat was spared at the expense of the pick-up. was anyone injured? hate to see anything like that but it's good to post when something just doesn't work out as expected.

Hey brother Pat,

I must be psychic or psychotic or something. I just looked at the Osprey album and was going to post the same question as you.

At least two of us want to hear the story, painful as it may be.

Pat & Nick,
I have heard the story and it did hurt to the quick. However I am sworn to and have taken the secret oath or I would relate it to you guys....just before I would have to snuff you out.

That being said....Dan, I think it most kindley of you to provide the hurricane gods a new target in the panhandle as if it didn't make a big enough target as it is.

I will see to it that the code inforcement guys are on your doorstep first thing in the morning to check out those high tech hurricane straps you used on that fine structure.

Mike,

Come on now! Posting those pictures and not telling the story is like trolling a big juicy bait and then saying, "I don't really want to catch a fish!"

dan emailed me the details. although i was surprised of his candor, he stated while driving down the street a nude college girl started crossing the street and upon seeing this he immediately turned his head away from the nude distraction and when that occurred he lost control of his rig. i always admire a man willing to state the truth, and given the situation i would have done the same.

Dan,

I went to the link that Tyboo posted and got the REAL story. Looks like Pat's age 60 fantasies are churning again!

RE: the new boathouse, I have to admit to some envy of you folks who have a place right on the water. I could give a limb or two for that and hope to be there in my next life! It's beautiful... enjoy! :cocktail

Thanks all for your kind words and wit,

We have settled with State Farm for the accident. It took forever it seemed but in the end it was a fair settlement. We bought a year newer truck with the settlement $$$.

Denise and I remain unscathed but a little shaken, I now wear a seat belt, where I almost never did prior to the accident.

Mike Taylor, The Code Enforcement guys you sent couldn't get past the neighbors shotgun, the guard dogs, or the locked gate! They decided things were kosher from a distance, I guess!

Tyboo Mike, Thanks for helping the others who didn't catch my original explanation of our accident. I wish I had that John Deere tractor. Alas we will tow for a while with the above vehicle.

Pat, Keep your eyes straight ahead when you drive, man.

Nick, you took the bait and have been landed and released!!!Too tough to be palatable. You'll readily strike the next offered bait anyway, I'm sure.

We have put Osprey up for the summer and come back north to our MN lake cabin. We will enjoy the cooler climate til late Sept. or so. Sure hope the damn oil stays away. Here's a visual of our cabin.

Be careful and wear your seat belt.
