I dont check Honda OBs

It is another mechanical device like a thermostat and needs to be replaced and often over looked during service yet easy to be replaced and located outside on the lower leg..

I don't believe the Honda has a "poppit valve".

I changed out the thermostats and still got the alarm. My next step was to change out all three temp sensors. After the alarm was still present I took it to the certified Honda mechanic (on my street) and he scanned the codes with special Honda scanner. Had a code for a sensor fault, cleared it and the problem was fixed! And no charge for clearing codes! Thanks for all who chimed in and hopefully this will help someone else with the same problem.

I had a similar problem with my Suzuki DF 50. The fix was simple but frustrating to find. On the Suzuki there is a "vent hole" just above the "pee hole". This was plugged by dirt dabbers causing a periodic alarm. Once this was cleared out I've never had another problem. Hope this helps.
 
My 200 hp Honda, 2003 model did the exact same thing last year. Two new thermostats solved the problem.
Those can not be replaced on the water like on a 90hp.
 
Thermostats $25 each, sensors $20 each, Honda code scanner, priceless. LOL
 
In my previous reply to this problem I said that my thermostats were the problem. Well this past week I uncovered my boat, got out my repair records, re-read them and found I told you wrong...sorry.
It turned out to be the oxygen sensor and it was replaced at the Honda store.
Hopefully this will help you out. My problem disappeared.

Mine was one of the temperature sensors. I replaced all three. Tested in the water with a weekend on St. Johns. No more problems.
