Never used it but IMO, painting the lamiate won't last for horizontal surfaces like the dinette top etc. The tops are exposed to too much use. I'd look for another option that is more resiliant to daily use.

What's wrong with your top now? Is it just damaged due to normal use? I'd consider re-surfacing with Formica or similiar. That way it'll take abuse and look good for years.
