Perfect few days in Apostle Islands (spotted fellow brats)

Hi Everyone,

I just got back from 3 days on in the Apostle Islands. My little 16 was perfect (didn't even miss the 22!) weather was amazing, the water was amazing. Only burned 6 gallons of gas (amazing!) beached on Hermit Island (if only for the name) caught a 5 pound Coho on the downrigger (wow!) drank whiskey-cokes at Tom's Burned Down Cabin on Madaline Island, spotted "SCOUT" at another pier, and "Thorfinn" at launch in Washburn. Speaking of Washburn, simply parked my truck and trailer on the grass next to all the others, launched on my own for first time (did you put in your drain plug?) Suzuki ran like a top (who needs a honda?!) The cut out angler cuddy was comfortable enough when a few whiskey/cokes in me (big plans for making the most of the 16's room). One of the neatest boats I've ever seen was out there: a 1954 Crestliner "Vagabond" 22 feet with cabin and twin Honda 40's (repower obviously) would have taken more pics but jumped in water with my phone 1st two hours out. It's fixed now. Need to buy a camera again. :)

Hope everyone had half as much fun as I had over the 4th.

I only got three pictures off before soaking my phone in the lake: These should give some idea of the ideal conditions over the 4th weekend.

Love the Apostles! Sailed up there a couple years ago in the most perfect conditions I have ever experienced. Hope to bring the 22 over in September.

Ain't cruising grand? :)
