Hi Brats,

Hey, I need a little help here.

I just installed Vetus PM21 portholes and have been trying to upload photos to a new nested album with 10 photos for how-to instructions for the installation. I started last night and it seemed slow in uploading. After I got tired of sitting around, I went to bed and let it run for 7 hours.

When I checked the computer this morning, I found that the upload "still in progress." I tried again and got the same thing this morning. I'm using the same camera, same settings, same computer and using Firefox. There are no new variables and I have put more photos in a nested album before.

Any ideas?

I see 7 photos in the album that are related to port hole installation so it appears at least 7 or 10 made it. Is one photo unusually large or corrupted or of the wrong type?

Hi Roger,

Thanks fo your reply.

After I posted this query, I went back in and uploaded two and three at a time and that worked, finally. I tried so many times that I knew the captions by heart!

As far as I know, all of the photos were the same.

Oh well, I finally got them all in.

Nick,

I have had the some thing happen, and here is what I do.

This site resizes uploaded photos to a maximum of 800 pixels wide or tall, so a large photo has to be fully uploaded to the site, and then our site program reduces the the photo's size.

It is the uploading of a very large file that causes the delays and problems.

First resize the pictures so they are 800 pixels wide or tall, or somewhat larger. (I resize to 1,000 pixels wide.) Then the upload goes much quicker.

I use a Hewlett Packard program to resize, but most photo handling programs should be able to resize.

One more thing, When viewing photos, the site shows a photo that is less than the maximum or 800 pixels wide, (I think that is to speed up download time), but if you place the cursor(arrow) over the photo and it changes to a finger, then clicking on the photo opens up the larger picture.

When posting photos in a thread, you have to get the 'properties' of the larger photo to use in the post.

Larry,

Thanks for the info. I keep that in mind next time.
