These are a series of photographs which were sent by Mark Wright of Northwest Marine Industries, of a C Dory 22 currently under construction.

I want to thank Mark and the administration for keeping us in the loop about the production of current boats. This looks like a quality operation!

Reminds me of the build on my boat. Thanks for the photos Mike and thank you Bob for posting. Great looking build. George

I saw a nice 22 for sale in Juneau yesterday while I was at the marine store spending money and trying to find stuff and I must say that after all the hours and dollars I put in on maintenance and refurbs over the winter, I was thinking it might be nice to go back to the simple, reliable form and function of a C-Dory. I still really like the looks of them and I have never been through any seas in the bigger boat that I would have hesitated to take a CD22 through. They are just hard to beat.

Bob,
That is a good positive thing for C-Dory. To much negative lately but I will have to admit it is hard to stay positive with all of these ownership changes, law suites and the like.

That is a good looking product. I heard that the latest boats being built are of a higher quality than in the mid 2005 era.
I stopped there last year on my way north and it looked pretty bleak. Not much going on and no leadership evident. It looks like they may be back on track and that is great.

Thanks for posting those pic's. They give all the C-brats hope of continuation of our much loved boat.

There used to be a factory site with pix of boats under construction. Would be great to resurrect it! If Mark could/would name the owner of the build and take/have taken weekly pix, new owners, not local, could keep track. I'm sure it would generate new business too!

A couple of years ago I bought a used RIB from a dealer who was some distance away from me. Part of the deal was refurbishing it. During the process the dealer would periodically email pictures of the progress. Also, whenever he had a question about something he would send me pictures for answering his questions. He would also send me pictures of things if I had specific questions.

All in all it was a very good way of communicating with this dealer without having to go to his shop whenever a question came up.

Not that I am going to buy a new C-dory anytime soon, but this would be a good way for the manufacturer to keep in touch with the buyer's of their boats during the build process. It really would not take that much time (i.e. cost too much) to take some photos from time to time during the build and email them to the buyer.

These photos came from an I phone, so I suspect that if a person who was having a boat built would ask for updates that they could be obtained.

I would think that revealing the owner of a boat under construction would have some confidentality issues.
