Working on equipment and boat improvements to make Miss B, 22 Angler a bit more organized and uniform for shrimping this season, soon followed by crabbing gear, and of course dreaming of dual open season times for crabbing and shrimping on the same trips.
Ive been gone for a while... and looking forward to more times on the waters on a C-Dory.
 
Patrick, Good to see you back (here and PNW). We need another "round table" sometime, but It would have to end before 0200. I'm well past punkin stage by then.

For hauling shrimp pots, I use an Ace Line Hauler mounted on a Scotty downrigger swivel mount. I usually just stack square pots on the starboard side in the corner.
Crab pots are the same, still using the Ace Line Hauler, but just the pulley at the end of the davit. Only use the motor if feeling lazy. :D

Look in my album and you can see the PVC rack I built for our first 22 Cruiser. Sized it to put 4 square pots up there. Used 3/4" PVC with 3/4" hardwood dowel inside to strengthen it all.

With your 22 Angler, you have a lot more deck space, which will make things easier. Have fun!

My Angler is very bare which is one of the things I liked as I was buying her.
Electronics work fine, but are units without manual's and not Raymarine or Garmin so a little learning curve there too. But then years with Raymarine on other boats, it was like those cats dont get out of lab coats and get our on the waters.... but, if you could find the correct series of pushing buttons, it did awesome job once found.
Have my pullers and downriggers set up.
Now to attempt to get her organized a bit.

Harvey I had to giggle a bit on that one.
Yes, for myself a few hours after our 2am round table I am waking up now days while attempting to stay awake until sunset!
Truly look forward to a get together soon. Maybe after this 9-11Jun shrimping window.
I'd like to see many of my PNW C-Brats.
The last couple few years has been crazier than crazy and time to roll back to some type of my normal abnormal life and adventures.

OOPS.....I now see my error. You meant that you pull the crab pots by hand. Whew.....I thought....Gee, Sandy, you sure are lazy!

Patrick, so you pull up 300 or 400 feet of line with a pot hanging on it by hand?! I'm impressed! I've done it a 2 or 3 times due to equipment failure and brain failure (forgot the puller :oops: ), but I hope to never do it again. One time in some current, it took me 2 hours to get the pot up.
 
Here's how I mounted my Ace Brutus puller back when I had a 25' c-dory.
It has the low profile (non-swivel) Scotty base which didn't snag on things when the puller was removed. Mounted here it didn't get in the way when boarding/disembarking the boat. I usually took it off and stored when not in use.

Sandy Lord no I dont pull pots by hand... in fact last trip out my old puller gave up the ghost on a pull about 1/3 up.... bad switch. So, I pulled the brand new one that has been bow ballast for about 4-5 years out, and bingo! Back in business and Johns Sporting in Everette just gave me a new/old type switch set up.
I appreciate all the feedback and pics in your photo albums.
Now... to set up a plan of assault to finish rigging Miss B out for short term/long term use.
This 22 Angler is a whole lot of boat in a small package. Boating solo a lot, or traveling solo or with one other this journey should be fun.
Hope to see some of my seasoned C-Dog/C-Brat friends this summer.
We have lost several too or health changes forcing boat sales.
Our life and health is so unpredictable and can change drastically in an instant.

It's $89 and worth every single penny. No more bending over, keeping tension on the line or back aches. Just run it thru the pulleys, hit the switch and stand back. Makes sweet coils! Don't need it for crabbing but for shrimp, it's a no brainer.

And, no, I didn't get the TRAC back tho Island County Detective DID find the woman who sold it. She was already in prison by that time. Weren't able to get any info other than email for the guy who bought it because.....they couldn't prove he knew it was stolen. And he didn't respond to emails from the detective.

We'll see if the PA's office will pursue charges.
