PNW Flooding

Now that I'm off for a few days the defrost is on; in the high 30's w/ rain now. I have to commend Angola Canvas; the Sunbrella cover took the snow load without issue. I did sweep most of it off prior to the rains as I didn't want the extra weight on it, but it's all melted and the cover looks fine.

Angola sure makes a good cover at a very fair price. I would however suggest that people consider their "poly" material for a winter cover. It's cheaper than Sunbrella, lighter weight, cleans easily, and dries quickly. After several (4 or 5) winters on our 16 cruiser it was like new (no kidding) when we sold that boat.

Marty, That white/grey cover, white boat and snow, equals good camo. Nobody even knows it's there. Would the poly cover work over the sunbrella, or would that be overkill? Thinking the snow might clear better from the poly.

When I spoke to the guy at Angola (forget his name) he told me the Poly was his choice for areas w/ regular snow, as it does not stretch like Sunbrella. However, it also does not breathe, so he said there is the issue w/ mold/mildew etc growing underneath it. I went w/ the Sunbrella for that reason. I figured it rains more than it snows here. It's like anything else; nothing is perfect. This is the third winter w/ the cover; it's "green" in some areas and the water repellent is worn out on the horizontal surfaces, but it's done it's job. In the summer, the boat is washed/covered each time we use it and it's kept the boat clean.
