Port Side Sliding window handle/latch

When I tried to close my port side sliding window after getting back to the dock today the handle/latch came off and flew into the water after I pushed on it to slide the window forward. I have been unable to retrieve it from the water. Where can I buy a replacement? Thanks as always for your help guys.

When you get the replacement latch, I used rear view mirrow adhesive on the pad that touches the window after cleaning the window area with a razor blade and alcohol. We used silicone seal everywhere else on the window handle that touched anything. No more problems. Keep window tracks clean and lubed up using some boat stuff called liquid rollers. That sad moment when your favorite window handle flies off and disapears into Davey Jones locker happens to almost everyone. Been there replaced that. :)

Well, I went into the water under my boat today (thank God it's 83 degrees in Ft Myers) and with much luck I was able to find my handle! I will definitely be keeping the window tracks clean and lubed after I reattach the handle.

Clear RTV works perfect to re-install the latch on the glass

The same thing happened to me a few years ago. I called Diamond Sea Glase in Canada and they sent me a new one at no charge if I recall correctly. Here's their web site; www.diamondseaglaze.com
You must have had the magic touch with them. I had one fall off at the ramp about a year ago on the day I demo'd my previous 22 to the buyer. I wound up buying mine from SeaGlaze and with shipping and customs charges from Canada, it wasn't cheap. Can't remember what exactly but I think it was between $30 and $50.

Also I'm jealous of Island Park's water temps. I went back the next day to the ramp to try to find mine. It was Dec. in the Seattle area and the water temps included some snow melt from the mountains. Water was greater than waste deep where I had to look. I couldn't stand to search for more than about 10 mins. Let's just say shrinkage was an issue and leave it at that.

One was already lost when I bought Sea-Cruz and then the second one came off. I called and it was going to be around $45 with shipping.

I bought one of those dual suction cup handles and now use it for both windows and as a grab handle where ever I need it. Works much better than the window latch. In fact I bought a second one so I can put two grab handles or a window opener where ever I need them.

Yes, sort of but I actually figured that SPRICE from the other thread about window latches would see this thread as it was also about the same topic. And when he got to the end he might figure out why it got posted. If I knew how to post a link to this thread I would not have had to do things in cockamamie fashion. I wear a size 52 shirt but my hat size is only a 2.
