Not condoning any of the behaviors but noting some facts.
1. The Portland Spirit docks in the vicinity. It has a regular cruise schedule that takes it up river and then down river.
2. It is on a river. There are banks. It is in a confined space and limited in direction of travel, up river or down, and It is the primary commercial vessel traffic in the area.
3. There are both CG and Portland River patrol for the area. Only one CG Rib appears in any of the videos, and there are lots more than the three available.
4. The Portland Spirit has a known route and schedule, and is commercial traffic.
IMHO that captain did a pretty nice job. it could have been really messy.
